Hello,
This my first post to this forum and really am frustrated at not being able to crack the code of this Internet marketing puzzle.
Is it just me or are all the promises of the sales pitches for getting traffic and sales on the Internet all hype/scam?
I have been puzzling through programs/ebooks/schemes/google searches,
ad nausea, only to find nothing works for me. 5 years and thousands of $$ down the drain with virtually no income to show makes me think that if there is a real answer, maybe I am just not cut out for it.
I probably get 50 emails a day with all sorts of "sure fire" sales and/or marketing programs. Every now and again the sales letter is so compelling that I fork over the money to try their system/program. The results always fall into 3 categories.
1.) So complicated and/or mind numbing that I don't understand or what I can implement screws up my computer.
2.) Turns out to be totally worthless....no traffic/sales.
3.) Actually gets traffic but less than .01% sales so that the cost of the advertising medium is ~10 times the income.

I am coming to the conclusion that maybe I am just not cut out for this stuff. I recently talked to a very rude person that I called to discuss a problem that I was having regarding their software.

After repeated efforts to get an understanding of what she was telling me, she blurted out, "You just don't get it! You better get into another line of business."
Is she right?
Thanks for any comments.

well,
for what it is worth, I am willing to discuss with you if you call me during the week-

Being an affiliate manager and now VP of business development, I interface with experienced and novice affiliates all day long. After a few minutes of discussion i might likely be able to provide some direction.

I think you may just be a dummy, and not cut out for business. You sound extremely gullible, which is indicative of bad business sense.

Did it never occur to you that if you could make as much money from following the "gurus" system as they claimed, that they would never ever be giving it away for $97 because that would be fucking retarded?

My generic advice to you:

1) Stop buying shitty ebooks.

2) Stop buying shitty ebooks. Seriously.

3) Stop looking for easy money and come up with a more conservative, realistic goal with a simple website.

4) Read stuff here for ideas on what that might be.

You can make money online the problem is most likely you.

lucidity is right stop buying into the shit that all the others tell you, there is good information online but usually it's not in an ebook.

Here's the reality and you won't like it. if you want to make an easy living online, get to work, work your fuckin ass off, work 12 fuckin hours a day on it and actually do shit not read about it. People think it's easy or simple and will take no time, well it takes a fuckin long time to get to the point where it takes very little time.

If you post a video yourself pouring orange juice into your butthole i will teach you how to do the internetz.

do a payment reversal on that rude bitch (hopefully I'm not related to her *points at name* /end lame joke). If you want to make it in internet marketing you can. It does take a lot of work at first, but once you get the big picture it's all good. The first $100 is the hardest, after that it's easy to find ways to earn more and expand.

Status: clientTransferProhibited, clientUpdateProhibited. I looked up my website on internic.net and read this. What exactly does this mean? Is it for ever or is there room for negotiation?

First thing I would do is post the phone number and the name of person you talked to on this forum so that we can randomly call her and fuck with her for being such a bitch.

Ah yes we used to do that at my sales jobs if we cold called somebody and they were assholes we made a copy of their card and passed it around the office and everybody took turns cold calling them everyday, good times.

5 years and you're still at square one? yeah I would say it's time to move on. There's a difference between trying, failing and growing and just standing in one place going in cirlces. It sounds like you are doing the latter.

Turbo is probably right.

This stuff can be lucrative but it takes hard work and dedication. Also you have to be laser focused. I have sites that are now just making good to great money but they have been developed for over 2 years. Others will be quick hits, but not last long.

The internet is like the prospecting for gold during a gold rush. There are the pro miners that come in and make a fortune. There are the guys looking to get rich quick and 1 in 100 make lots of money and the rest go home to lick their wounds.

Then there are the camp followers who only look to make money off the hard work of others by providing nebulous goods and services that sound great but have very little value. These are typically sold to the guys looking to get rich quick and not work hard.

So if you want to do well, become a miner and learn the skills, then be prepared to work long and hard. That is the only way to come out in the end with great riches from this business.

5 years?

Your probably just booksmart, and think inside the box. Goto college, and be someones bitch. It sounds like a better route for you to go.

Really good points made there... there is no easy way off making money online... if there is a scheme saying that they have a system to make tons of money without working your arse off ...its a LIE...

you only make money by working your arse off... that applies to any thing in life

5 years? I think after 5 years it'd be time to move on. But if don't heed this advice and continue with internet marketing, stop buying fucking e-books. You're better off spending that money on actual books, like copy writing (Landing Page handbook by marketing sherpa, web copy that sells) or programming (pretty much any php/mysql) book. Learn the fundamentals of marketing and development and then apply them to the web.

You sound like the type of person who jumps from project to project and never really finishes anything. That's a horrible habit to get into, and if you dont see projects to the end you'll never succeed.

Wow man, that's the best analogy i've ever heard for e-book sellers and DP scum haha!
