I read Amit Mehta blog that he would ask how much the top affiliate earns per month. If it is less than 100K, he won't promote it. What questions do you guys ask before you promote something?

So you wouldnt sign up as the only affiliate on a small program? Thats when you really make money for little effort.
Plus if there are a lot of heavy hitters in your niche it is going to be tough for everything: PPC, SEO, keywords, all fucking thought of before.

Amit posts a lot of useful information but don't follow it like a rule book.
I think you should worry first is it something that you would buy....
then look at profit and can I afford this is it really worth that much and will someone return

Yep that's pretty much it. Then I'll probably browse around Google to see how competitive the niche is.
I like competitive niches personally. It means that people are making $$$ with it. All you gotta do is be better than some of them to make $ in the niche.
I think the most important question to ask before promoting any product is, "Would I buy it?" If it's not something that interests you, it won't hold your interest.
