So I decide to start using Yahoo PPC, sign up for an account, daily budget $100, duplicate the same high performing Adwords campaign by using the same ad copy and keywords in my new Yahoo one, and I've spent 200 shitty American dollars and over 200 clicks to no avail. Not a single fucking conversion. The EXACT same campaign on Google has 15:1 click to conversion ratio.

And what's even worse is that Yahoo automatically deposits more money from your paypal/credit card once you reach the daily limit, so I'm trying to just rinse all the money from my account and be done with them, but those fuckers keep bringing more money back into my account. Is there any way to stop them taking money from me so I can just spend all the funds in my account?
 


yea Yahoo kind of sucks

you can email them to stop their automatic funneling of money out of your bank account and switch over to a pre-pay plan
 
Did you make sure to turn off the content network? Are you tracking your keywords to see if advanced match is triggering something weird? There may be a variation of your keywords that just sucks.

For example, I had one keyword in my campaigns that believe it or not barely gets any searches on google but will get me at least 10-30 clicks a day on yahoo. And I just discovered that it doesn't actually convert very well, so far it's broken even for me.
 
Content is off, I'll have to contact them to switch plans.

Anyway it obviously depends on the campaign, I'm sure there are people cashing hard with Yahoo. Hasn't been a good start for me though.
 
Yahoo has a lot of arbitrage type search partners that feed lower quality traffic into their PPC network. Depending what niche you're offer is, it can be really hit or miss.
 
yahoo has a lot of shitty search partners that even go to the extent of scrubbing their referrer so you can't block their shitty ass shit.
 
Not to mention Yahoo's SHITTY ass matching technology....And their dumbass editorial reviews....And their good for nothing "quality score"....Etc.

Been there done that, which is why I rarely look to Yahoo anymore.
 
It's a hit and miss game with Yahoo. I use them exclusive for PPC. I just can't stomach Big G's game.

I have found them to be good for middle age women buyers. The level of computer sophistication is not as high as google users but more advanced then msn for sure.
 
I've had better conversion on yahho for the few campaigns i'm running....

BUT, i did start something on yahoo to solely test their content network. They predicted hundreds of thousands of impressions for the month and tens of thousands of clicks. 3 days went by and ZERO impressions. I contacted them there and they said their server for content network was having issues. 3 days later still no impressions. I contacted them again and they said they don't know when it will be fixed?

Anyone else have that problem? or are the just bullshitting me?
 
yahoo was doing good for me with ringtones but its hard to get clicks now because instead of raising the bid for keywords they jsut remove them then you don't even really get a chance to stay up there.

I can't deal with google, tehre whole min bid shit is BS. I can't even put in a decent keyword without getting like a 1$ min bid required. gay.

This "issue" is really not as common as you think if you do things right. If you give them one page with barely any content then ya you will get slapped. Give them a page full of content related to your keywords and a few sub pages and you're good to go.
 
Man I really hope MSN & Yahoo merge so they can come up with good PPC competition for Adwords.
 
This bullshit just happened to me today. It says I am on a prepaid plan, yet it just billed my CC another 30 because funds were running low. How the fuck do I have them stop billing me?

Send them an email telling them to set your account to prepaid-non auto rebill. It's an option, they just don't let set it yourself.

Yeah, i wondered that too. Spoke to my rep. Basically call or email them and ask to not be billed in advance and that you only wanna pay when you decide to add your own funds. They will switch you....

OR you can increae the amount the charge you so you're not charged 5 seconds...
 
I just emailed them, how long does it take for them to respond? In the meantime while I am waiting for a response I changed my expiration date on my CC and CSV :D
 
i've noticed yahoo sucks too.. and i've only been in AM for a couple weeks. 40 clicks and 2 leads today, both of which are from the UK (its set to USA traffic only).. the UK leads pay only half of what the US leads pay so im still not profiting.

i get much more conversions from google.. but the CPC is through the roof there so I cant profit from google either. fken AM!
