Alright, here's the situation:

I've been fucking around with the whole making money online thing for a very short while. Done some blogging/autoblogging, but now I want to make a run at PPC affiliate marketing.

I spent part of this afternoon looking around an affiliate network for a product to market. There are just about 10 advertisers on the network with the products that I have in mind.

Instead of just going with one of them I was considering going with ALL of them. I was going to put up a blog and do reviews, articles, comparisons, that kind of shit, with "winners" in different categories. That would give me good, relevant, and (for the most part) unique content. I would also have lots of contextual room to work in links and adds.

Does this seem like it might be reasonable for a first shot? Or should I go a little more simple for my first (ie PPC to LP)?

The only thing that leaves me wondering is that with all there is to learn about tracking and tweaking would that be too much to manage for a n00b?

Well...number 1, congrats on getting off your ass and acting on a plan. So many of us (including myself) get so caught up in reading different schemes, we get nowhere.

I've learned the key to all this is testing. I've also learned (being on a small budget) to start small and build on success. It's taken me years to learn this.

Your plan sounds reasonable, especially if you have the time to push the content.

On my current PPC project, I find myself spending so much time testing, analyzing and making subtle changes to the campaign that I'd burn myself out trying to write reviews and such.

But, that's just the way I work. If you have the energy and time, it looks like you might be on the right track.

Just try it, watch your spending and above all....learn and adjust.

Thanks for the compliments. The thing is with how much time is spent testing and analyzing with just one offer that you are promoting, do I really want to jump in with almost 10?

Well, there are so many ways to approach this. It sounds like you want to provide good content revolving around the products you're promoting. that's a great approach from a number of different angles.

One rule i follow with blogs is not to post a lot of articles at the same time. you'll want the search engines to like you and submitting articles in a machine gun fashion tends to set off their automation detection alarms. Submit one article every couple of days or even once a week.

As you write each article, follow SEO rules, ie. insert target keywords in your title and bold in the article a couple of times.

Once the article is up, submit it to blog directories...StumbleUpon, Digg, etc.

Then you can start a ppc campaign pointed at your new post. Write 3 ads around the keyword and let Google cycle through them. Google will favor the ad that gets the most clicks. Then watch and adjust the ads for best activity and conversion.

Sorry....Bud race is on....gotta go!!!

I may not have answered your question.

My approach may not work. Yours may. Work with and have confidence with your idea until you have reason to abandon it.

No one on this board (well...I can only speak for myself) holds the one and only idea for making money on the internet. If they do, it may dry up next week or next month. There are thousands of ideas awaiting discovery!

Don't let us rain on your parade. just try it and try it with gusto. It's your idea. make it work!! that's what makes this so much fun!!

Are the products you plan to review all the same type of product? It kinda sounded like they may all be different.

If so, i would be careful with PPC to make sure you have targeted landing pages for each and not to just send everyone to the sites homepage.

Let's say u have reviews on DVD players, dating services, and basketball shoes. And i search for "Reviews for best Nike basketball shows" and then i click your ad for nike shoe reviews, but then i land on a general review blog and i have to find my way to the nike shoes section. That's when i'll click my back button.

So if you have lots of stuff make sure you send traffic to very specific pages that deliver on the promise of your ad, which speaks to the specific need the user searched for...

That's my one stumbling block with this idea. Ohh well, fuck it. Tomorrow I'm going to start throwing shit at the wall.

Tag each SUBID with the keyword searched (using PHP script). If that won't work, just tag the shit out of each SUBID. Tag with ad title, review position, placement, and anything else that will help you make future tweaks..

Yeah, that what I was figuring.
