Please consider my last thread closed, Subnixus has merged with PRunderground and we now offer more features, better distribution and cheaper prices...

Now I have three options for you to choose from and if you can write your own release, you'll definitely save money. However, if you want us to write it, it's still cheap. Here are our new packages... (c&p from the site):

------------------------------------------------------------------

FREE SERVICE: When distributed solely on PRunderground (no PRWeb distribution), your press release is free, as long as it meets our editorial guidelines. Your PRunderground release receives the royal treatment, with a whole slew of features, which other distributors charge for. Your release will appear in Google News and keyword anchor links are allowed.

$59.99 DISTRIBUTION: Quite possibly the best deal provided by any press release distributor online, our paid service guarantees results. Your release will not only appear on PRunderground (SEO optimized), but it will also appear on PRWeb.com (a service which costs $80 by itself). That’s right! You’ll receive distribution on both PRunderground and PRWeb for a single price of $59.99!

$79.99 CREATION AND DISTRIBUTION:
We guarantee that you won’t find an offer like this anywhere else. Not only will we distribute your release on PRunderground and PRWeb… we’ll write it for you as well! The price above is not a typo… you’ll get everything for just $79.99!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, like I said, if you write your own release and use our free option I can pretty much guarantee that it will appear in Google News. It took a while, but I managed to get approval from Google to be included in their news feed today. Example: "PRunderground" search in Google News...

For more information or to place an order, go to www.PRunderground.com

  • What are your editorial guidelines? (for free dist.)
  • PRWeb has a bunch of different "levels" of PR Distribution... one of which gets delivered nationally and you can target certain niches. Do you offer any upgrade services that would include these options but remain cheaper than PR Web?

The guidelines can be found here.

And at this time our $59.99 package will basically include the equivalent of PRWeb's $80 package. We aren't resellers of PRWeb, so we don't offer any additional packages. If you're wanting a higher PRWeb level, you'll have to go through them and pay full price.

I've added an additional package... for those of you that don't care about PRWeb and don't feel like writing your own release, I will write it and it will still appear in Google News.

I just submitted information for a press release for one of my websites. I ordered the $79.99 package. I included the reason for the story as well as detailed information about the site. If your team has any questions do not hesitate to call.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with and the results from this project.

Hi,
I just submitted a free release and look forward to testing your service. However, I am looking to pay for my release for an ebook that I wrote. I understand that with your 59.95 service, I am guaranteed to PRWeb, Google News and Yahoo News. That is great and a very good deal.

However, I a aware of two other services that I wanted to ask if it makes sense to also submit to to extend reach both online and to editors: PR Leap and Webwire. Please advise if it makes sense to pay for those services also. Seems like with the 3, it can be cheaper than the big granddaddy: PRNewswire!

Also, should I be worried about all the incoming links, as I understand that these releases get indexed very quickly or PRNews, Webwire and PRLeap.

I appreciate your advice and your site looks like a winner.

Alexa

Hi,

Does it make sense to combine your $59.99 service with PRLeap or Newsire to get additional coverage or is that redundant?

Believe me, I am not trying to spend extra money but I would love to do a nice launch for my new ebook...

By the way, great website ...I just submitted a free release for one of my smaller sites. Great service.

Thanks,
Alexa

I just got my first release. I bought the $79 pkg and Eric did an awesome job!! He made us look really professional. I really couldn't be more happy. I can't wait to see this thing get picked up and passed around all over the place!

Well done Eric!! We'll be back FOR SURE. My husband is going to get in touch with you about his sites as well.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the kind words FSHD :)

Alexa, sorry about the delay, I've let this thread slip a little (haven't looked at it in days). Submitting the release to multiple outlets is redundant in that case. Since our $59.99 already includes distribution to all of the outlets PRleap uses, it would just show up once.

Example: Put out a press release with PRunderground on Monday and then put out that same release with PRleap on Tuesday... and sites like Google News will only show the PRunderground release, because it came first.

The only reason to use multiple distributors is if they have different outlets. If one only submits to Yahoo News and the other only submits to Google News, use them both. But if they both submit to Google and Yahoo, just choose the cheapest (or the one with the most options, like url keywords, etc...)

From this point on PRunderground will no longer be adding PRWeb distribution to our packages. They've been making some strange decisions lately and their releases haven't really performed very well at all... just ask FSHD. While their PRunderground release appeared on Google News, the same release distributed by PRWeb wasn't even indexed by Google search.

So as of tonight we've launched some new plans. To view them, check out this chart. Thanks

I guess it would make sense to post the package details here....

READ THIS! HOW CAN THIS HELP MY AFFILIATE SALES?

I've had a few people ask me this lately. Listen, my services aren't just for people looking to get in the media. Obviously, there's not a big chance of press coverage when all you have is a landing page... but that's okay, you don't need press, you need targeted traffic.

Let me give you a quick example, I'm not going to go deep into details for reasons of my own, but try to think outside the box here.

TIP #1 -
Google absolutely loves PRunderground. We constantly outrank other news distributors in all categories of news searches. This means we normally rank on the first page of Google News for keywords no matter what they are.

Example: Grand Theft Auto 4 and unlock iphone - One of our latests releases is in the top 8 for "Grand Theft Auto 4" after going out less than 20 minutes ago. We are still on page 2 for "unlock iphone" after a week.

TIP #2 - If you want maximum exposure for your press release, it obviously has to be about something popular at the moment. Use Google's Hot Trend page for ideas. I can almost guarantee that we would rank in the top ten for ANY of the keywords listed in on the hot trend page within 1 hour of putting out a release.

TIP #3 - I'm still not going to put your affiliate links in a press release. Sorry, it's just not going to happen. So make a site you lazy bastards. Base it around your "hot trend" pick and I'll write up a quality release for it. Announcing the launch of a new Web site is definitely newsworthy and I have no problems writing a release about your awesome new site about... let me check Google Trends... about
zombie road.

Okay... so if you still can't see the value of one of my $29.99 press releases (which I write for you), I don't think anyone can help you. Just think outside of the box and go start a simple site!

Understand?

p.s. - I'm not giving any guarantees as to how much traffic you could get out of this. It's all relative to the release. Some people get hundreds of hits the first hour, some people don't get a hundred hits in a week. But hey, it's only $29.99 for my cheapest plan, so it's not like you'll be out a lot of money.

Hi, I'm wondering what exactly I got for my $79.

I'm not writing this to be bitchy but I do need to tell you that I feel as though I got the short end of the stick. You wrote me a WONDERFUL pres release however I didn't get hardly any of the distribution perks that I paid for. I'm very sorry that the company that you were doing business with dropped the ball on you but where does that leave me?

We were talking away on your site and I was being very sympathetic because I do realize that things like this happen. As I read this thread I see that you are now offering a Enhanced Distribution + Press Release Creation at $49. How is this package different from what I paid $79 for? The last message that I received from you on your site ended with my service being "completed".

Am I missing something? You said something about my next review being free. I was counting on THIS review being productive. I was told that my release would be reposted all over the net hundreds of times.

I'm a little frustrated. Here's what I got for $79.
"Popular Freebies Site Connects Shoppers with Free Products" - Google Search

I should add that before declaring my service "completed" that he did give me some wonderful tips for my submitting my pres release to various outlets on my own. Of course that defeats the purpose of my hiring him to do it.

Again, I'm not writing this to be bitchy...

Oh OK, I am bitching. so what.

Hey FSHD, before I answer your questions I think it's only fair to point out a few things.

First, the $79.99 package stated that we would write the release (which we did), we would get your release on Google News (which we did) and it would appear on PRWeb (which it did). Let me point out a few places that you left out where the release appeared:

Google News
Topix News
Ask News
...and the biggie: PRWeb (which charges $80 for distribution).

So I don't think for a second you didn't get what you paid for. With that said...

Yes, PRWeb isn't performing like they used to. Most of their releases aren't picked up by Yahoo News anymore and a lot of them don't get picked up by Google News.

I felt bad that the PRWeb distribution didn't perform like it normally did, so I dropped them from PRunderground all together. I also offered to write a free press release for you in the future. I charge $30 for that alone.

You weren't happy with the results that PRWeb provided and that's understandable, but asking what you got for your money is a little strange. You got just what the first post says you would get.

FSHD wanted news coverage (who doesn't) and was disappointed that reporters didn't call (even though the RSS feed to journalists DID work in PRWeb). We can't guarantee reporters will call you, we just write the release and put it out there.

I suggested that FSHD fax and e-mail their release to the local paper and news stations in their area. Remember blastyourass getting on the news? That's how he did it.

You said, "I should add that before declaring my service "completed" that he did give me some wonderful tips for my submitting my pres release to various outlets on my own. Of course that defeats the purpose of my hiring him to do it."

Actually, I did what I was hired to do. I don't send releases to peoples local media and I don't advertise that I do.

Anyway, the new Enhanced Distribution is different than what you paid for in a few ways.

1. We don't distribute via PRWeb. That's one of the reasons the price is so much cheaper... we don't have to pay PRWeb.

2. We manually send your release to all of the places listed here. Again, that doesn't guarantee the release will be re-printed, it just guarantees they will receive it.

I think the one thing people need to remember is this:

I DON'T GUARANTEE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN THE MEDIA

If I could do that I would be charging a hell of a lot more than $49.99... And while I'm on the subject, go out and check the rates that PR professionals charge for press release creation. The AVERAGE rate is around $200 per release. I could easily get a job that paid me a lot more than what I make with PRunderground, but I don't, because I enjoy being able to work from home and I am able to offer real PR services to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.

Short version of above post:

  • I advertised (for $79.99) that I would write a press release, it would appear in Google News and it would be distributed on PRWeb. All of these things happened.
  • I don't guarantee media coverage. Nobody can.
  • I dropped PRWeb because of bad performance.
  • I offered to write another press release for FDHS, for FREE.
  • I now provide a different package for $49.99, which no longer includes PRWeb.
  • I still don't guarantee that anyone from the media will call you. I don't even guarantee that Joe Blow from iautoblogthecrapoutofthisplace.com will even re-print your release.
The End.
