I need to increase my efficiency and am wasting too much time building blogs. Can you please tell me the best (non techie way) to clone my blogs.

I got BlogmatricPro (Blog Matrix Pro) from a friend but I have no idea how to use that shit (if anyone wants it just let me know maybe we can do a trade).

So far, I have come across two programs:

1) Wordpress Cloner - Word Press Cloner (costs $97)

2) WP Cloner (different program ) - Wordpress Cloner :: Clone Your Wordpress Blogs (costs $127)

Now before rush off and spend 3 figures, I want to know if there's a way I don't know of creating a fully cloned blog in minutes (perhaps some free program and plugin).

Basically it need to:
-copy all plug ins
- copy themes
-copy permalink structure
-copy ping list

the thing about Wordpress Cloner (above) is that it creates the sub domain and configured blog all in one.

With the right solution to this problem, I can reduce 1 day of work to 1 hour! Please spill the beans on your opinions here.
Tx

Copying plugins and themes is no big deal, two folders.

Then login, erase the "hello world" and kick the permalink over and drop in your ping list.

That is 10 minutes tops. Not a day.

Of course I am assuming you use the one click install from Cpanel to start the blog.

Tx for the response. I was hoping if anyone had any info on programs like Wordpress Cloner (Word Press Cloner) that does it in 1 minute. If it takes 10 for the regular way, that's 6 sites in 1 hour. With the software, that 60 sites in 1 hour. So as you can see, it can make a huge difference if you only have an hour or so to dedicate to it. I'm just trying to cut down my content building to link building ratio significantly with the use of technology.....

I've never used either of these programs but the WP Cloner software looks interesting. I like the idea of having a master blog which can be cloned for all new blogs but also being able to add or update plugins or post to all blogs at once.

Will it upgrade all blogs to the latest version of WP too?

I'd make my own, it couldn't be that hard.

Basically just have to rip all your files and dump the data out of your SQL database. Then build a script that re-inject your SQL data and plop your files back in.

And if you've coommandline access then set up 1 blog the way you want it. Dump the database and copy all of the files into another directory.

When you want to set up a blog, all you need to do is copy all of the files over to your new web directory. Change wp-config.php for the new database name, import the database and then change out wp_options.option_name.home and wp_options.option_name.siteurl to your new domain name. All that's left to do is to import posts.

Less than 10 minutes and if you automate it with a script, it will take only the time it takes you change the variables in your script.

Sorry fellas but I'm a content chick! Don't no PHP from OPP (lol).
If I solicited someone on rent-a-corder, how much would it cost to get someone to build a script like that?

for a commandline script, I could cobble something together that's dirty but works like a charm in about 15 to 20 minutes.

If I did a php script, it might take a bit longer, but an experienced coder could do it in less than an hour and make it more portable.

Tell me what you want, and I will help contribute some of the code and I am sure others will help refine it. All of us can benefit from it and I've been tinkering around and almost have something.

you could modify the install file that installs config table values .. you would only have to do it once and it could take care of
"-copy all plug ins
- copy themes
-copy permalink structure
-copy ping list"

I dont see why you would need to keep cloning if you are always intalling from the same installer?

or am i missing something?

I like the idea that you can not only create the blogs with this software but also change and update them just by changing the 'master' blog. That's why I was thinking of getting it.

I actually have it setup where I have one central directory for all my wordpress files and then use linux symbolic links from all my domains pointing back to that single set of files - that way they can all share the same plugins, etc. Then on each domain you just have it's own config file and database.

I think its great idea.
Once you can have master blog (.)
script to upload it to new location
+ all you need is theme switch (to make them look different) or else - google will ban you for dupes - so have to eliminate "footprints" - i.e. rename some styles, files and so.
Sounds good and can be commercially valuable.
