I used to make >$500 a month messing with Craigs List and car ads. Here is what I did:

1) Find pics of nice "in demand" cars
2) Posted ads in various cities advertising cars at great discounts
3) Auto-response from G-mail "vacation" setting sent them to my landing page
4) landing page was made with pic of car on top and adsense underneath. Page also included an article about said car.
5) I also incorporated some auto loan CPA on page
6) Profit

Not only can this be used on Craigs but on car forums as well. I just got tired of fucking with craigs list and the Nazis and let this go. Don't tell me I didn't ever give you anything.

I tried this with a dating site a few months back. One of the problems with this was that I couldn't post an email address in the listing, I had to use an image.

The first response also flagged the listing.

You don't have to post an e-mail for CL...use the gmail account when you register on CL / post the ad.... the CL e-mail (anony) goes to gmail you auto reply.. you can even post the email w/out anony on craigs or atleast you used to be able too.

I think this may work a little but from what I've seen they get flagged VERY VERY fast. Even the ones going to ebay ads / auction ads type pages are getting flagged.

You put actual content on the page... not just an image + ads, add a paragraph about the car/item it's not that hard :)

It would still look like an MFA site. If you just had a paragraph and adsense all on the page. Doesn't Google have policies against that? Especially if you make any decent money from this page and they check, they'll wonder what's going on wouldn't they?

I like the idea, I was going to do something simliar on craigslist with another niche but, I decided against it when I thought my account could get banned.

Srsly?

Yeah, I dont' see how 1 paragraph is enough to not look like an MFA site. If you're making chump change then I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.

A page with 1 image and a paragraph is more than a bunch of sites displaying adsense have. You read the TOS and interpret it how you will.

Write content. In my opinion all sites that use adsense were Made For Adsense. Why? Because when I create sites I do it for money. Adsense is the source of the money. Therefor, it is a site made for adsense.

Got it? Good. Write an article - maybe 2 or 3 paragraphs - put the adsense on there and make money.

Oh, and Google doesn't look down on you making big money with AdSense. Why? Because the more you make, the more they make.

Making a website, putting adsense on it, then driving traffic to it will not get you banned. That is what most sites using adsense do. Either that or they put adsense on it, get no traffic, and make a penny here and there (like you :))

P.S. - popeye, thanks for the tip. Hopefully not everyone is afraid of making money like MentalyDisturbed.

I'm not afraid, I have a WH site that's bringing me some adsense income and that's the reason I didn't want to risk it.

Based on what you said, I might try it out. I shouldn't have said MFA sites but, sites that look spammy. Which is the impression I got.

Everybody knows Google is about the "user experience", they really don't have a problem with money. I'm sure they'll ban you if they want.

And why the hell do you think they are in for the user experience? For money.

If your problem the entire time was not wanting to make a spammy site, then don't make a spammy site. No one said you needed to make a shitty mess for a site...

Just got off the phone with goog; everyone in this thread has been banned for life. :D

I was already banned a year ago. I was selling tunkey websites with my Adsense ID being used in them. The site scripts had config files so the buyers could change them, but some people didn't and used BS noob ways (link submitters etc) to get traffic and I got banned for it.

I had just built the sites, then packaged them up for sale. Never thought of removing my adsense link and replacing it with a BS number, just figured "hey, I may make a few extra dollars"

Ah well. Thank god for the thousand other ways to make money online.

I don't have a problem with spammy sites.

I suppose I should repeat it again. I said I liked this idea and have my own method for this technique that I was going to use.

My question was very simple, I was just asking if I could get banned.

Your question is to simple.

When you have to resort to Craigslist these days as an affiliate marketer you know you've failed. You don't know how to market to a real audience so you try to make shortcuts to make a few cents just to get by.
