Can somebody recommend a macro recorder that will create stand-alone exe macros. I can't install my macro applications at work.

Thanks

Not exactly what your asking, and assuming you just want it to do stuff within the browser try imacro for either FF or IE.

.....I can't install my macro applications at work.

The OP wants something stand-alone hence the question. I think Imacros would be classified as an installation.

@MentalyDisturbd - If you can't install anything, I am assuming you're in a locked down environment via group policy or something similar? If that's the case, you might have a hard time getting even a standalone exe onto your desktop ... just a thought.

I can run stand-alone programs just can't install any software. I'll check Autoit.

Thanks

I download AutoIt and I don't understand this you have to script your own macros? You can't just press record and it'll record your mouse/keyboard etc.. and just play back?

yeah that's too pricey, there's gotta be another program at a decent price that can create stand-alone macros. I'm not trying to do anything advanced. Just trying to automate simple repetitive tasks.

what tasks exactly are you trying to automate?

I have google adwords campaigns in an excel document and want to create a macro to automate entering them into adwords editor. You can't import adwords templates from excel into adwords editor you have to do it manually. You can upload all keywords at once and upload all ads at once but, you have to do them one at a time. Can't completely upload all at once.. so you can upload all keywords at one time, and then all ads at one time. I want to create a macro to automate it completely.

The macro itself is really simple, it's all copy/paste and switching windows. My campaigns are formatted correctly in Excel. It's just a matter of copying cells from excel, switching windows, and pasting into adwords editor.

I did this very thing you speak of except I used a windows script (similar to Autoit) to parse out a flat text file with the data. Have you tried some of the more advanced text editors out there. I know many of them have built in macros. One such is Crimson Editor. Not sure that solves your original problem though.

If you have access to the internet at work, you could RDP to your home computer and do everything you need. I do.

I'm new here and don't want to risk it. Don't know what kind of monitoring system they have here. Although I don't know what RDP is but, I was thinking of using VNC. Just haven't gone around to forward my router and as mentioned don't know if they are monitoring that port.

Being able to setup a stand-alone macro recorder for such a simple task shouldn't be complicated at all. I've downloaded several applications and none of them seem to work.
