I was going to flame the little "8 posts and I'm a fucking expert" dude above for resurrecting this dead post, but shit, the Aequitas post was great.

+1 rep

I disagree with staying away from the content network.

It works very well now.

(the rest is good advice...)

Golden post right there +rep given. Any way you could elaborate on the next statement?

I tell the people with low experience to stay away from the content network if they are just learning because as you can see MySpace can drill down your funds faster then anything.

Well thats not entirely true eBay can also drown your funds extremely quickly and when your just learning how to get the ball rolling you are really just in it to test out different methods, and to get the feel for things.

However if you do want to use the content network I would suggest site specific targeting your offers, for instance a dating related offer might do good on Friend Finder, something like "If you have not gotten laid using Friend Finder click here" then push them a how to get laid product produced by men.com and try to stay away from letting Google randomly place your shit everywhere.

The statement just meant if your new learn the search network first this will enable you to get a grasp on your keyword usage, landing pages, ad copies, ect... before you move onto something like the content network.

You're not really going to find a "consultant" who will tell you what you really want to know. Reason is, they are your competitor. They could run the same campaign and make $1000 in a day long term. Why would they give out their personal method for $1000 when they could make $30K a month if they kept it to their self?

You should research more on PPC and I wouldn't start with CPM. I would start with Adwords and YSM and promote on their search network.

You can find everything you need to know on this site and on blogs by "super affiliates". All the same information is repeated over and over, you can do everything by the book but, eventually you need to learn how to be creative and think outside the box.

You can't just expect to simply start 3 campaigns and throw money at them and expect results. If it was that simple, everybody would be rich from affiliate marketing. It's not that simple, it requires hard work and creativity. Learn all the basics first.

he can join ubercamp....they tell you exactly what to do.

There are many resources online that can help you get started with PPC. I have been doing internet marketing for years and have tried everything and every time I try something new I always go back to PPC affiliate marketing. It can be disheartening some times but you just need to keep tweaking and learning from what you do. Test, test, test!
