I did a search on this before posting...didn't really find a solid answer.

If I launch a campaign and say a few days later pause it to go out of town...etc, will this affect my QS in any way?

I'm assuming that people pause their campaigns pretty frequently if they're going over their budget, going out of town...etc. What about pausing for longer periods of time if you just don't have the $$ to shell out?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanx.

i believe it does. i had a good campaign running, about $200/day profit, paused it for about 3 days to check some things, do some tweaks. Initially my bids were $.20-$.30. After I unpaused, my bid were $1-$2...with many of my keywords being set to inactive.

So I think my domain name got slapped, and all I did was pause for a few days. Nothing else.

I'm willing to bet that if I copy the campaign, and simply buy a new domain name, all will be good again, as long as I dont pause.

Google isnt as smart as it thinks.

Maybe they calculate your recent CTR as zero so your ad is regarded as irrelevant at all.
The lesson I learn here is it is better to use their schedule to pause a campaign for tweak.

Thanx for the tips guys. This is my 1st campaign ,and i've only signed up with YSM so far. So for Google you're saying there is a certain time "schedule" in which it is permissable to make offline tweaks in google's eyes w/o being bitchslapped?

rgordon83: Nice Blues Jr site...i used to sell those actually, great amps.

I answered my own question...looks like Google refers to this as "dayparting". Good to know. Thanx for the help guys.

rgordon: That's awesome, i've been rocking my Fender deluxe 85 for a while...solid state, but sounds better than a lot of tube amps ive played through.

i should add: the campaigns that got slapped after i paused were probably campaigns that should have been slapped before that anyway (one page sites with just "contact" link and Privacy Policy, nothing else), it just so happens that i didn't get slapped until i paused them. But i have paused other quality sites and not had a probelm.

So if you have a site ur nervouse about, better safe than sorry. lower your bids to $1 a day...
