Great advice wolfe, I started about the same time and am in a similar position. The notebook is invaluable, but I've found my main problem is starting too many projects before finishing any of them. Patience is key along with a clear plan and tracking system.
I agree that WickedFire is full of useful information but I do find I need to test it out before I fully understand half of it. Probably just cause I'm such a newb to all the technical terms.

+rep even tho it won't mean much!

Well bb_wolfe is you learned all of that in that short a period of time. Please tell me how. I started with a $56 ebook and ended up $8,000 in debt. How, well I found a host that talked me into paying for two years in advance and sold me a bunch of directory listings and sponsored links. That's a true newbie. Didn't know about forums, etc. then.
By the way what's up with landing pages? I am not even sure I know exactly what they are. Is this different than a home page?

A landing page can also be a home page but a home page may not always be a landing page.

A home page is your front door, the landing page can be your front door, or your slutty daughter's upstairs bedroom window.

Man, they can call you a sucker.

YUP, ignorance is not bliss. Knowledge can be power, but only when you have the correct knowledge and use it wisely. Have a really good host now. They charge less than $10 a month and support php, mysql, cron, email accounts, autoresponder and yada yada yada. No problems with their uptime or being bothered by a sales associate when calling support. So at least I learned one thing. I'm not spending any more money until I learn some more.

I don't mind someone making an honest buck. But could they charge me the true value rather than an overinflated value. I can't believe the cost of clicks on Google. Right now the keywords I am testing cost any where from around $1 to as much as $3 and i heard some go for allot more. After all, how many clicks actually convert on the average? I've heard as low as 1% or as high as 13% (the 13% is real unusual-weight loss surgery). How does an affiliate make any money at those rates? Would have to be some really good commissions with great conversion rates. So I guess I actually learned two things.

When playing poker, I want you at my table!

losers games

Well BB wolfe I don't gamble. That's a losers game for most people. I was never that big of a sucker. I was just an ignorant fool. Lots of affiliate make big bucks off of ignorant fools. They fall for those keywords like free and truckloads of money and easy. All I can say is everything easy is either basically worthless or just trying to upsell you or isn't easy at all.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Once you have come to that realization you are at least a lot farther along than 90% of the other cool-aid drinking lemmings out there that suckle upon the tits of some affiliate marketing *fake* gurus.

Are you trying to soap-box me, fool?

First, I profit playing poker because of one simple fact: I only play with those people who are worse players than I. Second, you're the tool who lost his ass, not me. I've had campaigns lose HUGE and I'm still learning, but I always absorb it into my business.

You say ignorant, I say lazy. Anyone who knows how to spell GOOGLE can avoid the risk you walked headfirst into. I've had plenty of projects fail, but not because I failed to do my homework.

But whatever, right, now you're on your way, so STFU and get going, I'm not that far in front of you.

Thanks for the point by point post...
60 days ahead of today I want to have a better position than you do. Most likely due to standing on your shoulders and taking your advice.

2.Facebook/Social sites are not for newbies.

So far I've spent about $1000 and have $965 in earnings, so I'm catching up. Just wish I had studied more before I began.

did i get this right, you went to facebook and threw in 1000$ only to make
$965? :repuke:

When i first went to facebook i threw in 160€ and made 1000€. Did i study more, or was i simply more intelligent than you? I don't know, but i just have to laugh when people throw in a big pile of money in the beginning just to brake even. You know why? Because now you have to wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to get your your money back. If so, then you will have a so called "cold" period a.k.a "that time of the month". Good luck son.

Yes, it is a success you asshole. Getting 96% back, means you only need to tweak it a bit to get a profit. You got a huge return just because you were lucky. Go replicate that steadily over time, and then brag about it.

You obviously haven't been in the affiliate marketing business very long if you think EVERY campaign is going to be profitable.

Can you do that consistently?
