Hey,

So I google'd in "download Microsoft word" since my current one is corrupted; I take a look at the Adword ads at the side; and one of them says free version of it. So anyhow, I click on it; and I get to this page:

Microsoft Word For FREE?

First thing that came to my mind was that what this guy did was a pretty good idea. Though, he doesn't have a legal leg to stand on; and I doubt he is running an incentive email submit.

But I still enter in my email submit just to down the software. After I get it downloaded; it seems that the file has a password. So I open the read me file; and it says:

Congratulations!

You're 1 final step away from your free download!!

Simply visit:
http://recommendedproducts.info/gr8downloads_getpw.php

Then enter your mobile phone number and click "Continue to next step >".
Now enter the pin # you received and click "Confirm".

The word in gold in the middle of the next page is the password required to unzip download.zip.

There you have it. Now simply open download.zip using the password and you're done!

We hope you enjoy your free download!

If you encounter any problems, contact us at help@informationstation-page.info
The cell phone service can not help you in this matter in any way, shape or form, they are not involved in the
giveaway promotion, so please do not contact them, only we can help.
Now, my question is; how do thing this guy is doing with this campaign?

PS. I didn't enter my phone number :xomunch:

This is a nice update of the torrent cash method. I'm sure he'll get kicked from AdWords for promoting pirated software soon though.

i saw a guy doing this for something else ... won't mention what it was, but the technique looks sketchy as fuck.

This technique is oldschool. Ten years ago every warez site was using it.

Another site like that is wwwDOTwatchdesperatehousewivesDOTnet they give you free episodes after you complete some cpa offers. The thing with that site is that he gets his episodes from youku this is like the chinese youtube. Check it out ... that site is chockfull of full episodes of about any show you can think of. (sopranos , lost, desperate housewives, the office ,...)

Interesting...if you wanted to do this and stay legal you could use free alternatives instead...for example, instead of pointing them to an illegal copy of word you could point them to open office which is free and does the same job.

Heh, reminds me of a Family Guy site that was similar to that. You had to complete a survey before you could get in.

porn torrents + cecash = $$$

or.. at least it was. too much work nowdays. most big torrent sites don't even allow rar files in their porn section anymore because of this.

Extremely useful, definitely keep it on tabs. However FortunePlaza, you sir are fool. You're never going to be able to download a legit version of word like that in Google. Ever. Torrents do the job if you don't care about the law, otherwise use a free version like OpenOffice.

I was going for a torrent o_O.

Just get someone in college to send you their school's site licensed copy that doesn't take a product key.

Or find a friend who works in software dev with an MSDN subscription.

P.S. When's this forum gonna get decent hardware so it doesn't give a database error every 5 minutes?

this is a pretty typical way of torrent marketing. u throw up soemthing and get people to download it, and then just keep linking it to your offers and force them to keep signing up for shit so they'll eventually give up. and obviously they wont be getting the file!
