URL Cloaking?

Excuse the noob in me, I missed the thread by Jon at SP (anybody copy it down?) what exactly is URL Cloaking?

Jon has said that he previously owned a large network of which he made some sweet moola from. How can one profit from cloaking a URL? Or was it the sites?

Would love it if you could repost that SP thread again Jon :)
 


By URL cloaking I think he meant keeping your URL in the address bar while displaying a page with a dif URL to the user. Like using a frame that the user can't see.

Not sure if Jon kept that thread but others at wickedfire have. Do a bit of searching and you'll find a few names of people who said they saved the entire thread on their hard drive.
 
i asked about this subject earlier, has anyone had any success using cloaking?

or does nobody use this technique? thanks
 
I did a bit of research, and the kloakit software demo actually helps a lot with working out what it is and how to achieve it.
