Do you use Google Checkout?

I'm using PayPal right now for everything I do online, but just curious if anyone here is using Google Checkout and what are the ups and downs (if any) of using it.

I've never used it, but the terms look better than PayPal's, especially if you use Adwords.

For every $1 you spend on AdWords, you can process $10 in sales for free. For sales that exceed this amount or if you don't use AdWords, you can process them at a low 2% and $0.20 per transaction.

The service itself looks easy enough to use and setup.

Same here, I don't really sell anything online though. I sell some advertising space on one site but I've had the same advertiser for a long time now and they pay by cheque once every 6 months.

Is Google checkout available to 3rd world countries?

PayPal decides one day to close your account and when you enquire they mail back some template answer...

a friend of mine lost 2k pounds in his account when they decided to close it without warning

I use google checkout and I am VERY VERY happy with it. There are pros and cons of course. But I am saving a lot of money. You get 10X the amount you spend in Adwords to process transactions for free. Google needs to work on their site navigation and usability though. Also, I have to manually email people their eBooks. With paypal they can click, "return to merchant" and they will go to your ebook page. However, most customers are retarded and never do that, and I have to email them the eBook anyhow. Also, chargebacks are a lot less common with google.

Google just tried to close my account as well. It was really annoying. They wanted all kinds of verification info. Then when I was questioning it, they said they no longer needed it! Fucking annoyhing.

To be honest, I'm MUCH to used to PayPal right now to just up and leave it. Besides, I've got to much money invested, and too many valuable transactions in my history.

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking. I've used paypal for like 6 years or so and have never had a problem that I can remember. I guess if it's not broke don't fix it. I do like a lot of Google's shit though...that's what got me thinking about using it.

Never used Adwords, so I'm kinda lost on the whole get 10x the amount you spend on Adwords idea? What does that mean?
