Its a contact form plugin... i dont know how to work it though, i activated the plugin and now what?... i dont see the form on my blog?.. am i doing something wrong?

am i doing something wrong?

Probably!

I've used contact forms before with wordpress and I think I remember you have to type in a function (if that 's what it's called). Just paste something like <--contactform--> wherever you want to use it. Check the directions for your particular plugin.

it is the most awesome contact form around. it is amazing.

use this:

<!--cforms name="form name"-->

you have to insert that into a post or page (change the "form name" to your forms name) - read the documentation. you can also use the cfII tinymce button which will pop up a list of your forms. if you don't see the button after activating the plugin, hit ctrl f5 to force a refresh of the page.

this plugin is invaluable to what i do... love it. use it for contact, contesting, registrations, and so much more!

sweet, i just got it, took me a while to adjust to it. the only thing i would want to edit out is below the form, it says who created it. It looks like i am using a plugin to the viewer with having the "designed by blah blah" click here"

I use it, and love it.

Yeah its great for what it does.

i posted to my blog how to remove the "designed by" and was immediately contacted by the developer who said that it was people like me who were causing wp developers to get out of the game - since we seemed ungrateful - as you can see from my above post i'm totally grateful, so i took the post down... but i kept the "link love" hidden on my sites. so there's your hint. go figure it out. it's basic css stuff.

Finally many of these themes try to legally disallow you from removing the advertising link by claiming it’s part of the Creative Commons attribution to leave it. This is almost funny, because these themes are on shaky legal ground themselves. WordPress is Free, meaning you’re free to do pretty much anything you like with it. It’s under a license that encourages user freedom called the GPL, which says if you distribute something that links internal functions and data structures of a GPL program (like themes do with WordPress) that also needs to be Free. At best, theme authors claiming you can’t remove the link are ignoring or ignorant of the license issues, at worst they’re actively exploiting the work of thousands of volunteers that have poured their blood, sweat, and tears into WordPress.
Anytime someone gets uppity about removing attribution, I come back to this blog post. I'm not going to give up link equity nor am I going to add to my footprint by leaving whatever backlink they program into their plugin or theme on my site.

I'm more than happy to acknowledge them in a place where people give a shit about what plugins to use. Like a discussion on WF, for instance. But when someone visiting a site of mine is filling out a contact form, they aren't thinking to themselves, "Wow... this shit rocks! Where can I get me some of this?"

Always remove those links, they are huge footprints. But, give credit to the programmers because most of them deserve it, link to them from your webmaster related blog or something that actually matters, like vinny said.
