Burn After Reading: Waste of 2 fucking hours

I was recommended this one. What type of humor is it? Trailers can be deceptive.

I don't know what kind of humor it is, but I doubt you'll leave the room laughing.

Movies with George Looney in them are always highly overrated IMO.

Agreed. I have a wide range of appreciation for humor... and I think I laughed at 3 jokes throughout the entire movie... maybe. What a disappointment considering the cast
Same opinion, it sucks. It's not funny, I enjoy all types of humor, this movie was retarded

Movie was so so, but they should have put any chick on Clooney's basement invention and shown that...

Really? I thought it was pretty cool. I'm not a big Keanu Reeves fan but thought it was pretty good.

Still prefer the original though.

The movie was not bad per-se however it could have used a bit more action or suspense. I just happen to loathe movies that contain a heavy tree-hugger undertone.

I have my regrets because it was a toss-up between that and Yes Man (Liar Liar part 2) and I chose the former.

See, the problem with a movie like Burn After Reading is that people are expecting it to be something it really isn't.

It's only funny if you're the sort of person that thought Layer Cake or In Bruges was funny. The it's not comedy so much as just really morbid fantasy that's not-quite-ironic.

I thought it was a rather brilliant movie about how people will continue to dig the hole a little deeper for themselves and everyone around them because they keep saying "Dig up, stupid!"... And at the end of it, we learnt not to do it again, whatever it was in the first place.
But we never learn what it is in the first place.
The way I see it, the whole movie rests on you understanding that last line as being something you're meant to realise is happening in your own life.

Also, the bit where they finally wipe the smile of Brad Pitt's face is great!

I liked it. It was a little bit slow, but it was actually funny. "Haha, you think that's a Schwinn" has become one of my favourite movie lines, just because of how Brad Pitt delivered it.

Anyways, I had a bit of a Gold Class mishap (Harvey might be the only one who knows what Gold Class is... basically you get reclining seats and food delivered to you during the movie and we didn't get our food :() so I kind of missed about 15 important minutes when I was trying to get something to eat.

But yeah, I liked it. In Bruges was fucking hilarious, too.
