It fell out of my purse last night. I picked it up and put it back in. This morning it was not in my purse. I knew it had fallen out again. I was freaked. More about the info in the phone than the phone it's self. Turns out it had fallen out of my purse...in my car. WHEW. So you can best bet I did what I should have done already which was set the security code. Whilst I was freaking out (before I found it) I came across this site: I lost my iPhone - I found your iPhone - iPhone Lost & Found Wallpaper/Personalization Service - Home! Basically, if you lose your iphone and had registered it at this site (before you lost it) if the finder goes to this site they can send you a message. It's actually not a bad idea. However, I hesitate to give just anyone my serial number (I don't know why, it's just that being in the biz I'm way more paranoid than before) Also I can't see how this site benefits the owners which then makes me question their movtives even more. Any thoughts?

Does apple not have a similar service/solution? Not sure if I would give out my info either.

BTW, gotta download that makemoniesonline App :p

But Turbo, wouldn't it be more fun to put a small piece of magnesium inside the phone, and if they get the security code wrong it drops some water on it, so stealing it becomes your revenge in the first place?
Of course, you're fucked if you're drunk, but it's not like you really needed that index finger...

Just get insurance on it, much easier in my opinion. My friend pays $40 a year to State Farm and they replace it with no deductible.
She's not worried about the phone. She's worried about the info on it.

It would be nice to have some sort "this phone will self destruct in 3-2-1..." button. Remote detonation should be thrown in as a bonus. Any iphone app programers...?

Baddaban

Would someone ban this shit brick, like now.... Set that code NOW turbs because if you are like me you got your adwords logins, stats logins, and your top network logins in your safari browser. Definitely not something you want a random to stumble across. (although not many people would even know what the hell all these numbers mean) But yep definitely get your security code in. You can also look for a gps tracking app where you can install it, then track your phone if you ever lose it via the online mapping. Cant remember the name but remember seeing it in the app store once. Peace.
Do, you need to tell everyone you got an iphone? Shut up already!

Yeah I got the security code on it now.

I'll look into that GPS thing. I was reading someone else on another forum said that when they had theirs stolen after a party they kept texting (you know how you can read the text even when the phone is locked?) " We know who stole this phone. This phone has a gps location we know where you are and the police are on their way." Anyways they ended up finding it back at the place where the party was held but in a place that he had never been (outside in the bed of his friends truck) and knew that the perps returned it.
