ADD/ADHD

Stuff like why they really took Rice Krispy Treats cereal off store shelves when it was hands down the best cereal ever created. That's definitely a topic for another day though unless we don't mind this ADD/ADHD thread getting sidetracked with some good, quality, cereal discussion!

The copious amounts of weed you're smoking probably doesn't help either ;)

I could be wrong, it's just a hunch.

Actually, I'm the biggest lightweight when it comes to weed. I take a few hits and I'm fucking liiiifttteedddd... which I guess is good because it saves money but -- yeah I don't really smoke too much.

Liquor on the other hand..

but it's kind of fucked up when I take like a solid hour/hour-and-a-half to make like... a shopping list. I mean, it's the fucking greatest shopping list you'd ever lay your eyes on but -- I dunnno -- it's like overkill sometimes, I guess.

LOL! God only knows how many times I've done shit like this while on Adderall.

Was searching for ADD threads only found a couple from way back, i did see the psychotropics thread, wow some experiments going on in there!

Just popped some Vyvanse. I've been taking Stratterra for 5 years, stopped being effective to the point where i was just focusing on the side effects. Doc also gave me Concerta, said to try them each for a week.

Apparently, Vyvanse is from the maker of Adderall and since Adderall went generic the pharm reps are hitting the psychs hard to dispense Vyvanse instead, so Shire can once again corner the market and not lose market share. It is somewhat similar but apparently you can't abuse it, since it relies on an enzyme in your liver for it to work.

I was just so entranced and inspired by the whole marketing machine behind the drug, every time I mentioned Adderall my psych kept switching the subject to you really need to try Vyvanse. He also gave me a promotional package that had a card in it for 3 free prescriptions.

To activate the card I had to call them and do this market research survey.

Big Pharma Marketing is where it's at. lol

Time to get off the meds...

I was diagnosed with ADD when i was a kid b/c i got really shitty grades in grammar school and i could never pay attention to anything. My mom put me on rytalin for about a year. I rarely took it though b/c i was embarrassed.

I eventually learned to use my "space out" abilities to my advantage. I learned to channel it to "space about" about the thing i was learning or trying to accomplish. By the time i got to college i was on the deans list and honor's every year. never took any meds.
All that day dreaming led to a lot of creative and a copywriting job at a top interactive ad agency, which i eventually quit to start my own gig.

get off the meds, nothing wrong with spacing out. It's normal.
