Hey guys, got a quick question.

I'm looking to monetize hot trends, by putting up blogs about them. Thus I am looking for ways to get traffic to my blogs fast, preferably in a couple of hours (not days!).

What are the best way to get traffic fast? And what should I keep in mind when I set up my blogs in relation to getting fast traffic?

Also, would a tool like bookmarking demon help me with this?

Well if you don't mind spending money, than PPC is the best way. Just find the targeted audience you are planning to bring to your blog and advertise to that targeted audience.
 
There was this one site that everybody on WF is talking about that gives a detailed tutorial on how to get instant traffic to your blogs, but I seem to have misplaced the link, oh shame!

Does anybody have the link handy so we can help this fella?

Thanks for the advice to everyone else, are there any quick ways to do this other than ppc? What about social bookmarking softwares?
 
I would say submit your blog entry to blogcarnival, get some backlinks and get free traffic via SEO (long tail keywords)

It's not fast, but it's powerful.
 
yep PPC is your answer. If you dont want to go down that route give redvirus a shout and get some social bookmarks, this always speeds up my SEO but your not going to get listed in hours. A few days if your lucky.
 
PPC is the answer and it can be cheap if you get in quick enough. For example, you can get 5c clicks off google currently on:

But how would you monetize? The traffic would be untargeted and from the reports I've read from people trying to monetize swine flu with email submits was that it was a waste of time.

N00bs, being the n00bs they are, are allowed to ask easy questions. They haven't been around long enough to know better and they are in legitimate need of help.
People too dumb to read the rules, or know where to place their questions, or should simply know better by now, get dick rolled.
 
another idea... there must be a forum focused on the thing you're trying to promote. Look for it, join, and build your popularity there posting wisely. If you just post "visit my blog!" or "follow me on twitter!"...

Well... you already know what those guys are like... Don't become one of those guys and you'll be fine.

Speaking of Twitter, it's actually a very easy way to get a lot of traffic to your blog. You can set the whole thing up in like 20 mins and it's free. Just do a quick search and start adding people in your niche. Use the "WP to Twitter" plugin to update your Twitter account when you make new blog posts and people will click through. Then it all runs on autopilot.
