Google Content Network - Low number of impressions?

Update: On launching content campaigns on an old "quality" Google account I had lying around.

I tested the following:
Skin Care (Flog)
G Moniez (Flog)
Rez V (Review)

Result: 12 hours of impressions then 0.

Worse part is i launched Sat morning hoping no one in the office to check the ads, either they have an outsourced team checking these ads or it really is an automated check.

Next Test: GFs Credit Card, Brand New Laptop, LPs on Brand New IP, and use Cafe Wi FI...

Will keep you posted

@mihnea007

I don't run scams. And I wasn't using image ads.
"now go learn some real marketing" - say why don't u go f*** yourself?

same over here.. tried everything... can't make it work..
When I changed the url to a trusted website in the niche I was promoting it started working correctly.. so I guess it died because of landing page quality or site quality.. Will try to put it up on an old domain with links to see what happens...

If you are relying on google for your income as an affiliate then you are fucked. My google (search and content) accounts were slapped for running mobile offers 2-3 months ago. When I contacted my google rep she admitted to me that google have changed their "business model" and they no longer consider websites like mine a legitimate sitre for their users to go to.

This is how the conversation went:

Google rep: "You see Harry, its all about the user experience, and your websites don't add to the experience of google users. So what I'm going to do is put a manual review on your account. This means that every campaign you launch will have to be reviewed by me. If you want to speed things up you can either call me or email me and I'll speed things up."

Harry: "So what type of offers/websites can I promote?"

Google: "Any that add to the user experience"

Harry: "So what is the user experience?"

Google: "We don't have specific guidelines"

Harry: "But hang on, I've spent more than $700k with google, and you can't even tell me what I need to do to get any traffic back. You're telling me my websites and offers don't add to the user experience, but you won't tell me what I can do to add to that experience."

Google: "Have a nice day"

"I had the same problem--everything was fine and my sites were getting a nice level of traffic, then in early April everything suddenly dried up. I got on a live help chat with someone at Google, and I found out what the problem was. I am an affiliate, and all of my sites offer access to products and services that actually purchased on the merchant's site, but since they access that merchant's site through my site, I get a commission on the sale. Well, Google's new rating system sees the fact that my sites send visitors to other sites is cause for the lowest quality rating. My ads are fine, but they don't like my sites anymore, so they give me the lowest score, so my ads never show up, hence the dried up traffic problem. I guess everyone that has a site that offers links to other sites will get that same rubber stamp low score. This basically makes Adwords absolutely useless for me. I still can't believe this, but I was told there was nothing that can be done as long as my sites encourage visitors to go to other sites. Well, that's how my business works, so I'm totally screwed. If anyone has found a way around this, I'd really be grateful if you would share your secret. My income is really hurting. Thanks."

Going to be interesting to see what happens here.

The Content Network is self-serve. Correct me if I'm thinking wrong here but aren't all the sites using adsense going to get pissy when their revenue drops due to a lack of competition? I mean, I understand Google Search wanting *quality user experience* but most of the webmasters using adsense don't really give a fuck, right?

Google wants to be the only middleman in the game and they won't stop until affiliates have to take 9-5 jobs at "real" companies managing their ppc for them.

That's their goal and they're going to do everything they can to make it happen.

This has happened to me in the last week too. Had some nice GCN stuff running that has dried up to a trickle.

I am still getting similar levels of traffic from search to the same LP's though. Are other people seeing this?

Generally speaking this is quite bad news. I know there are certainly alternatives for Google but they are a massive traffic source and it will be a shame if anything "affiliate related" is auto blocked.

However, they have been known as been anti-affiliate for a while so it is no surprise they are actually getting to the stage of being able to enforce it.

So as a relative newbie, I should ask--if I get a "Google Slap" on one campaign, then I will potentially have issues with all other campaigns I launch on the same Adwords account, no matter how legit they are?

^^^ What he said

I can tell you that they have automated the whole slapping process now. If you can figure out how to beat their system, you will be rolling in dough because there is very little competition left now.
