I bought the $20 per 50k queries with maxmind api, to get the city name in my page. I have no clue how to get this setup, can someone please guide me on how to do this, id appreciate it.

Examples are located here. MaxMind - Country Web Service: Usage from Perl, ASP and PHP Though personally I would have just went with the 50$ one and had all that done locally with the binary database you can store on your own server (since no limit to request, and you get a years worth of updates)

You PAID to get the city name on your landing page? Can anybody explain how is it better than all the free geo-targeting scripts lying around?
It's more accurate like KB said. Depending on what you're pushing, it can make sense to require the accuracy. For example, if you're paying $5 a click on adwords then it's worth $20 bucks to make sure Jerome in Detroit doesn't have a page telling him he's from Bumfuck, North Dakota.
