He paid more than enough of a price for what he did, and he deserves a second chance like everyone else.
However - no reason to get excited about Vick being back in the league. His numbers were shitty throughout his career. I always laughed that he had lower completion percentages than Joey Motherfucking Harrington, which is pathetic. He was a sorry ass QB (just a fast runner), and after losing 2 years it is unlikely he will ever be a starting QB again. The fact that he was signed by a team that has no need for a starting QB means that is probably the consensus amongst GM's. He'll be a role player at best.
Vick has always been a thug and an asshole even when he played for VT. He continued it into the NFL and got busted for it. He may change but either way there are a lot of good players out there who don't go and do stupid shit non-stop who the eagles could have picked up. I am glad I am not an eagles fan. GO STEELERS.
Fuck that piece of shit, I'd like to lock him up in a room with one of those Pit Bulls he trained.
+ rep to the 1st sportscaster that calls the Iggles wildcat formation The Pitbull.
@Unarmed Gunman, I agree with your post with one big but: the addition to the NFL of the wildcat (singlewing, wingT, spread, wtf eva you want to call it) has changed playing QB in the League. If this weren't true, we wouldn't be reading about almost every team in the NFL scrambling (no pun) to implement a wildcat package as training camp progresses. Quite simply, when an organization's scout team is routinely beating the 1st team defense with the formation, it doesn't take a bright mind to realize that they'd better get there own version of it going and STAT.
The NFL is copy(wild)cat league and the formation will proliferate until NFL defenses prove they can defend it well enough to bring in the dawn of the next big thing (see the run & shoot era, the power I era, the RBBC era, etc).
If Ronnie Brown can run the formation to success, how can Vick not be more effective as he brings an actual threat of the forward pass for the defense to account for.
^Plus Calvin's out with a finger sprain? WTF? Persevere a couple more years, Stafford's the real deal and once Calvin has a real team around him, the discussion of who's the best WR in the NFL will be over for the next 8-10 years.
I hope a fucking dog runs out on the field and bites him on the ass....Being an Eagles fan, I'm def shocked. He paid his dues, I say let him play.
If its a fighting pit bull, I would doubt he'd fuck up the dog.You want to see him Kill another dog?
That guy would fuck a solo Pit Bull up. You might want to add another dog or two.
If its a fighting pit bull, I would doubt he'd fuck up the dog.
In my opinion, Calvin already is the best WR in football. He lead the league in TD's with 5 different schleps throwing him the ball and no other weapons on the team. Everyone that played the Lions knew he was the only good player on the team and they still couldn't stop him. Put a real QB behind center and another option or two and his numbers will be sick. That being said, I'll be happy with 6 wins this year. Pathetic, I know.
edited to add - Larry Fitzgerald is the real deal too. Maybe Calvin is 2nd best right now.
