New surroundings needed...

Don't come to Dublin.

Whats the story with lucy and molly in Mexico? Can I legally trip bowels?

Buenos Aires is definitely on the list, just would like to swing down for a bit first to see what it's all about. And the wife just added Tuscany to the list. I have to find her a virtual gig, then I'd be on board to go there.

Originally raised in Vancouver BC now living in Southern Cali.

Pros of Vancouver:
Great city life, lots of bars and restaurants
world class outdoor activities like snowboarding, biking, hiking etc.
laid back people
good weed

Cons
8 months of rain
lots of bums
crime raising
did I mention rain?

You want beachfront living? Go to Hawaii!

I swear if I weren't married I packed up and camp on the beach in Maui...

Heres what you do, go to home depot and buy one of those house shed things for $10,000. Find some dirt cheap/free land in Kansas and plop that sucker down. Then pray a tornado doesn't come.

Bums in every city, so I don't consider that a con really when it's apples to apples, and I live in the most corrupt city in the US currently, so crime could only be less , ha.

Rain doesn't bother me so much, and I'd train it in for days of -10 any day of the week. There is a big con to every place on the planet, figure you just have to pick the one that bothers you the least.

Encinitas, California.

True, every big city has those problems...

Vancouver is a really nice place, always topping the list on most livable cities but the reason I moved is I love the sun in Cali :)

Why would anybody want to move to Singapore? Sure it's clean, but it's also one of the biggest police states on the planet. Half the shit that the people on this forum get up to daily would get them caned, jailed or executed there.

that's about right, and its really hot there.

Besides Van, there is also Vancouver island.
Move to Victoria and you can walk over to Neverblue to p/u yer check

Along BC coast you also have Squamish, Gibsons, etc.
And a bunch of islands around there.
You can also take the ferry to Twassen (sp?) with your car and its a short drive to Seattle for more rain.

Kellowna and Kamloops have become popular too.

Barcelona is nice, but quite expensive. Overall, Spain is not that great.

The most beautiful place I've ever been to has to be Croatia - Makarska Riviera (also Hvar and Brac islands) and Dubrovnik.

Barcelona is a bargain compared to Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rome, all of Scandinavia. I love Spain, so not sure where you were.

Croatia would be cool, but I have zero connection to Croatia, so not the right place to start.

Barcelona is not cheap at all. Certainly cheaper than most of Scandinavia and some places in London/Paris/Rome. But not cheap.

I've been to Malaga, Nerja, Benalmadena, Fuengirola (?), Barcelona and a few other places many times over the past few years... Its alright.

Have you considered Canary Islands? I'd rather move there than mainland Spain.

Oh and Slovenia is nice, but you would get bored real quick there. :)

jenzkc, they've got some amazing mountains in Croatia. Both places are nice, but perhaps not well suited for long term living.

Between your domestic choices of Portland or Denver I'd go with Portland. Both are great cities but the lack fresh/salt bodies of water and beaches near Denver makes it less desirable in IMO.

Portland's neighborhoods each have their own unique personality and character which make it a really interesting city. Plus they have the most micro breweries per capita than any city in the US! ;)
