Yea the viral advertising for Cloverfield certainly hyped that up far more than the actual nauseating piece that hit the screens.

For lack of a better comparison, it was like the sci-fi version of Blair Witch Project.

I disagree with Avatar though...I thought it was visually amazing, and it had a great message that we are all connected on some level.

Eyes Wide Shut - Sidney Kubrick died just before the release of the film. I wanted to die while watching, it was so bad.

Out Of Africa - Zzzzzzzzz.... This won the Oscar for best picture. Even so. Zzzzzzzz.....

For the most part it was predictable, funny in areas, but not 'movie of the year' type of quality like some hyped it to be. The main parts I chuckled at was when he dinged the baby, and when the short asian guy was like 'to-tha-loo muthafuckaaaa'

So if you thought more than 3/4 of the movies in this thread were "the fucking bomb", your standards need raising. At least half require you to turn off your brain to enjoy, not really a big deal if its already been off for a decade.
