Toyota recalls more than 400,000 hybrid cars - CNN.com

So now they're recalling 400,000 hybrids (most of which being prius/lexus) for brake issues. And course we already know bout the 8 million being recalled for accelerator issues. I know its only early february, but I have a feeling Toyota gona be awarded fail of the year.

Anyone think they'll go the way of the Pinto, or shall they just simply add themselves to the rest that fucked up bad, yet still survived?

Toyota's handling of the matter got off to a rough start, but they're pushing all cylinders now. My guess is that they come through this in the same way Tylenol did after the '82 poison scare.

They can still screw it up at this point. But, it's their game to lose.

I guess kinda like how they blamed drivers, followed by floor mats before finally acknowledging the accelerators might be faulty.

I noticed they started pushing the 'We care, and have always been dedicated to quality' commercials last few days. Mostly showing off 50s/60s videos and such. Almost felt like inserting "used to" in there.

You may be right, but we shall see.

if it was an american car company having troubles, what would you do? i know the news heads would be saying they can get through it, but with a foreign car company they're bashing it and hurting it....look at it this way, toyota supplies many jobs across the nation, and is a somewhat part in our economy, if they went down then we would be hurting in our economy and many american jobs would be lost...i wouldn't be quick to bash them, they're handling this fine

as for recalling, it's ok, they made a mistake. there were consequences, OF COURSE there's always consequences when you have mistakes
