More School shootings today

it's funny cause the people who do columbines are kids who listen to emo and depressing music. rap is irrelevant to school shootings :2drinkspit:

There are far more school shootings in the hood, you just don't hear about it on national news.

No shit... when I was in high school (1996... shit) I watched a kid get his face slashed with a razor and later that day he shot some kids up in the parking lot. Never heard about it on the news at all... and I live in Missouri. ha

school violence isn't increasing, its just getting more televised.

That's what I'm thinking, and of course the more televised it gets the more likely someone is going to want the attention.

Hell with zero tolerance (translation: zero brains) arresting 12 year old girls for graffiti on their desk, or elementary school kids hugging in front of school, its no wonder why some kids sooner or later start to snap.

It is simply the effects of being rich. The richer a country is the more resources people have to isolate themselves.

With isolation comes things like the killings mentioned.

People in poor countries don't have the luxury to get depressed and suicidal. They must stick together to survive. They may kill but for resources, which is different.

Actually I think it's just evolving. Used to be school shootings were specific and targeted. Now their just massive and random in a pool of familiars. (what is that term called btw? You know, random but not random.)

I think deliguy was trying to say that we just notice it more, but this is an important effect too.

I undestood Eli. What I meant was that it's because of his point (that there are just more reports of these incidents these days), is the reason that fuels even more incidents like this (the werther effect - where more suicides are encouraged by the reports of earlier suicides).

Basically, if there was some depressed kid1 sitting someplace, he might never think about killing others. But when he sees that another depressed kid2 in a far away state has gone around killing those that made him depressed, there lies the possibility of kid1 getting the idea and doing the same.

The media reports can fuel the fire.

It's becoming an epidemic. First Tacoma, WA, now this:

Huh? epidemic?

Neither one of these "shootings" involved students.

One was a false alarm and the other was some crazy fuck obsessed with a woman who wanted nothing to do with him so he shot her -- she just happened to be a teacher.
