Hi,

I wanted to know if the wordpress firewall and lockdown plugins are compatible with the new wordpress version, do any of you guys have some experience with it?

I have also read that some people block all ips that are not from a certain country (like usa for example) from accessing their site. Any idea of how this can be done?

thanks

Thanks for the useful information!

I would like to know if using wordpress firewall plugin or login lockdown plugin with the new wordpress version might cause any problems?
I'll appreciate any help.

Hide the contents inside your directory
One of the easiest tricks is to insert a blank index.html file into your "plugins" directory. This helps prevent unwanted visitors from seeing which plugins you are running on your WordPress site. To do this, simply open up Notepad.exe and save the blank file as "index.html" (without quotes). Now, go onto your server and place the index.html file into wp-content/plugins/. Remember to always safely connect to the server using a Secure File Type Protocol (SFTP or FTPES), in which the data is encrypted before it is sent across the network.

Wordpress has been doing this in the plugins and themes folder for about a year.

Most people have upgraded by now.

Nice link drop BTW.

I would say not having an "admin" as a user is a good one. Make a new user and assign it as an admin. Login as that user and delete "admin".

Also making your Mysql database headers not wp_ would be good.
