Ignore. Brian Greene taught at Columbia and Cornell, and has Degrees from Oxford (Rhodes Scholar) and Harvard. Do you think the world's most prestigious academic institutions would associate themselves with pseudoscientists?

Logically not....You should check out some of his lectures from the World Science Festival

@ squash...you should email him any questions you have...I heard he's actually a pretty approachable guy...in addition to being a physics rock star with the requisite haters...

greene(at)phys.columbia.edu ;)

lol. Considering his entire line of thinking is based on the fact that the multiple worlds interpretation is 100% true...it's pseudoscience.

Well if that's true, I suggest you email the administration at Columbia - better yet contact the New York Times.

I can see the headlines now

"Interwebs Forum Moderator and Graduate Student at 9th Tier University Discovers that Work of Cornell-Trained, Nobel-Prize-Short-Listed, Former Rhodes Scholar and Tenured Columbia University Faculty Member is....PSEUDOSCIENCE....News at 10"

I mean really, the stuff you read on the internet these days, lol.....

Hold on... I'm seeing a different headline...

"Harvard-trained, Nobel Prize-winning, world-saving, double Phd holding, puppy-rescuing, tenured Columbia/Yale/Harvard faculty member tells RiddarHusetgal to jump off a cliff - she happily leaps."

Lol...that's actually quite witty ;)

Books don't hit the top of the charts when they're based on facts. He might know his shit but it doesn't mean what he's presenting is 100% factual. It might have the occasional fact to it, but hey even the old Star Trek hit something correctly once in a while. His books are for people like yourself that don't know any of the math or science behind it but want to seem intelligent by talking about it once in a while.

Also please go ahead and tell my colleagues we're a "9th tier" university, when our nuclear physics program ranks above Cornell, Harvard, Columbia..etc. I just don't feel the need to whip out my dick on a message board. I know what I'm talking about - you sure as hell don't, nor do you have the background to be able to.

.....rrrrright - and the Nobel committee doesn't know a little bit about linear algebra and vector calculus?

Or perhaps the Faculty at one of the country's top physics departments??

Or, maybe his dissertation advisor?

Hehe you are funny.....

I personally think you should email him and tell him your thoughts, perfect set up for an NSF grant, lmao w rofl.....

You really...really...have no idea what you are talking about. Throwing around names of math courses really doesn't impress me, nor does namedropping. Keep reading that "science for general readers" stuff though, maybe it will make you feel smarter and more smug, too. Just because you claim to understand the so called philosophical implications of these things doesn't mean anything. Your Starbucks philosopher friends might appreciate you dropping arbitrary terms like "Calabi-Yau manifold", but when you're confronted with anyone knowledgeable on the subject, you have no basis to stand on.

Riddar, why are you constantly appealing to authority when you debate?

Because she herself doesn't have an understanding of any of the subjects, so she has to namedrop people who are 'authorities'. How many posts have we seen her say "Warren Buffett is the richest capitalist in HISTORY yet he supports Obama!" - in which we've proven her wrong multiple times, yet she continues to say it.

Pseudo-intellectualism at its finest.
