GMA scare tactics for web ads

The sad part is how many people will believe anything. For example my granddad this morning says that such and such relative can track my location just from emails I send. (and he doesn't work for google, so wondering how that works... :D)

People are starting to wake up to the fact that their online presence isn't nearly as private as they previously thought.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of them have no clue how websites "know" their information. They still have no idea what a cookie is, much less anything else. Ignorance leads to fearmongering and so on and so forth.

It wouldn't surprise me if somehow eventually MS wins back IE users by saying FF/etc steals their info. :P

seen this on GMA myself.. the night before though my local news was outing a bunch of work from home URLs from pulse360 and going on and on about how its a scam, etc.
