Just found out that MediaTrust is closing down it's Toronto office. There will be a few people who chose to stay on board but work remotely. The NY office is still going to be open and running. They've also got a new man in charge, as Jivan has decided to leave. Our good friend Geoff Marcy is leaving too. Best of luck to the both of them and everyone else who were apart of that crew.

There was already a round of downsizing done in their Toronto office about a month ago, so whomever is left is going to be part of the talent fire-sale.

The company isn't in any trouble, even though they haven't been the superstars that they were in 2008, they are just going in a new direction, with a new guy at their helm.

There have also been numerous rumors and industry speculation since Q4 2008 that they may either be acquired by a larger agency or sell the corp, its worth mentioning, but again, they are still just rumors.

Maybe someone from MediaTrust will weigh in on this here and give us a head's up on what the new direction is and if any of those rumors are true (won't hold my breath though).

Gotta chase them fast. I still need to get paid some pending amount from Advaliant.

Is Geoff still going to Mediatrust office? I called a couple times last week his office phone but had no luck.

Well they just acquired Bardon recently

Hmmm I predict they will merge with another network ............ perhaps one from cocolorado :-)

Who's the source on this - Chantelle? Will Chantelle be remaining with the company?

Ehh, they're not closing down as a company.

Had a talk with Geofferson today, probably the most genuine guy I've encountered in the industry. All the best to him and everyone else at MT!

Couldn't agree more. Geoff is my favorite AM and good luck to him and his new venture.

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to connect with everyone re this string. Karnul thank you for posting responibley with this news. much appreciated.

today we announced we have scaled down our Toronto office as we further consolidate MediaTrust post aquisition into our NYc and LA offices. We are integrating the new capabilities from our Kenzei and Bardon Advisors acquisitions into the platform so that we are a broader bigger badder faster stronger company that offers our affiliate and advertising partners great offers and technology. as you all know the industry is changing rapidly, and it has always been our goal to be a performance marketing platform that handles all types of transactions and then some on a single platform. we are making these moves so that we can compete more effectively as a stronger co and as a leader in the industry. there is to much noise right now and we need less noise and more leadership to grow affiliate marketing.

Jivan , Geoff, Wynonia and the MT members who are moving on are great MT and industry peeps. we will all still be working together and stay close.Chan is still here in the NY office. we are doing well and will continue to make further announcements of many new technologies, tools and advertising partnerships to help our partners and industry grow.

please reach out to me if you need anything, or have questions. we are big fans of the Wickedfire forum and community. hope to continue growing with you as we move forward..

^^ really could have done without this corporate babble-speak full of typos.

well won't ever run anything with them anymore, and they better start sending me my residual money actually on time

+1 for Geoff, always a true professional to deal with. I wish him the best.

On to AM #3 @ MT - anyone here work with Jordan? thoughts?

yeah, you are right about Geoff! He's the man!

Well, I think it was a 'wrong sentence'/'sentence used in wrong place'. I just said 'gotta chase' because Geoff knew all the history and inside out of my case with them. So, I thought better close it before he moves to save the hassle of making other peep understand the scenario and following up again.

Anyways, we got in contact again yesterday.

Thanks Geoff! I appreciate you. Hope you have great time wherever you plan to move.
