Theme editing on WP

Beginning to work on editing my WP theme... and I am in way over my head. Is there a forum (wordpress.org?) that is good to look at for beginning this kind of endeavor? Also, WP is xhtml or css or both? I figure it will take me a couple of days to figure this out and get it exactly how I want it; hopefully the end result will be worth it.

WP uses XHTML for the structure and CSS to style it.

best way to learn is to just dig in and teach yourself. You will make mistakes but it's easy.... My 7 year old is already doing her own CSS!

I know some html, never heard of css... but I'm a relatively quick learner at all this stuff. Working through it now as best I can.

Only one of the above themes are showing up in my user cp and its the one with no documentation. Sigh.

It's working now. I just went through the user cp. Can't figure out why it doesn't see things that I ftp.

man i dont know any html or css just how to edit it and make it look good, you dont actually have to write it yourself ever, just use dreamweaver and edit it to your liking
