I know the big boys hate affiliates (Google, FB) but I never expected to hear this from a small self-serve display network.

1) Campaign submission gets rejected
2) I call in to find out why

Reasons:

1) URL redirect (i.e. affiliate link)
2) We don't accept affiliates!

Followup to #2: "So, what if I'm promoting my own site and I happen
to have affliate ads on there, is that OK?"

Answer: nope, won't get approved!

WTF?

Considering that just about every ad you see is an affiliate offer in some shape form or fashion (unless it is a direct promotion for a company like Nike), they'll be rethinking their business rules eventually or go out of business.

From a webmaster's perspective, I can see where this ad network is coming from and it doesn't seem like they don't want affiliates. I think it's more of a morality issue with letting continuity offers in because their visitors get shafted when they don't read the fine print (fuckin' disclaimers, how do they work?) so this is their default answer. From a marketer's perspective, keep $40+ rebills coming and fuck required disclaimers at the bottom of my lps.

ps. I'm high.

I can understand limiting certain affiliate offers that screw the holy fuck outta people, but by not accepting affiliate advertisements period, they're leaving shitloads of money on the table.

Oh well, fuck em, their loss.

guessing they run internally or its a morality issue that conflicts with the site. Either way they ain't doing it right.

meh it's their right to do what they want make your own ad network and accept every affiliates scammiest offers and watch how fast you go out of business.

LOL. Had the same issue with them. Screw 'em. There are tons of adnetworks that want our money...

same.. i only put in $300 as they kept asking for my cock and then all of a sudden they tell me "no affiliates". if you tell them you're an ad agency ur str8

can't blame them honestly. affiliate marketing the past couple of years has been reduced to slinging scammy offers that offer no value whatsoever for consumers.

as a webmaster, i'd rather not have those ads on my site
