Just as an FYI for those who may not be aware -

The 2001/2003 tax cuts expire January 1, 2011 and taxes are going to increase across the board:

Six Months to Go Until<br> The Largest Tax Hikes in History

- The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%
- The 25% bracket rises to 28%
- The 28% bracket rises to 31%
- The 33% bracket rises to 36%
- The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Seeing this reminded me of some of the wise and wonderful ways the government uses our money:

It's not just the straight up income tax increase, investing will also be impacted -

"Higher tax rates on savers and investors. The capital gains tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 20 percent in 2011. The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6 percent in 2011. These rates will rise another 3.8 percent in 2013."

BFD...the world is ending shortly there after anyway, so I can live with a year of bigger taxes.

"I will not raise taxes for those American making under 250k a year"

lol useful idiots lol

When you vote for politicians to assume the power to tax, you are essentially hiring a thug to rip private property away from your fellow citizens at the end of a gun barrel. This is the case whether you vote Republican, Democrat, or Independent. This is the case whether the taxes are used for wars, entitlements, or anything else.
[*]

To expect anything different is foolishness. If you hire a child molester to babysit your kid, bad things will happen. If you date a women who has a long history of cheating, bad things will happen. If you do business with a network with a consistent track record of screwing affiliates, expect a bad outcome.

If you vote for an individual actor driven by self-interest (despite what he/she says on the stump) to assume a position of authority that includes the power to tax, expect taxes. This issue transcends partisanship, gender, age, and race.

The moment you concede, "Some taxes are fine" is the moment you give away the kingdom.

I miss Guerilla. He was fun.

You all may bitch about income tax increases but you're just going to pay it like everyone else. You're not going to do anything about it other than bitch.

*I* on the other hand, am taking the bold step of reducing my taxable income considerably.

Why would you take anything from a site like that as factual?

Why not address the argument by disputing the facts presented and offering an alternative instead of using ad hominem attacks like a freshman debate club member that just found out his mom just got popped for hooking downtown?
