Hey WickedFire - need some help for a dead friend

Frank's Stupid Ass should be banned for life! That way his daily life can suck even more. HAHAHA!

On another note, due respect to those that passed, the title Dead doesn't seem fitting. Passing seems more appropriate.
I'm usually an asshole, but when it comes to death and passing, I have a certain respect towards that.

Just my .02 that nobody gives a crap about anyway.

I can understand how the family feels. My mother died on a motorcycle when I was 14. Mom never felt it, but I hurt like hell for ions over it. Guess that's why I no longer ride one.

I "Liked" but may I offer that you change that button to "recommend"? People have a hard time pressing a button called "Liked" on a really sad situation. Infact, if you'll notice all the news stations that use facebook social buttons use the "recommend" button. I have nothing to base this on but my gut tells me that more people will subconsciously be ok with pressing a recommend button to a devastating story than a "Liked" and you'll get a better conversion rate. / random 2 cents.

edit: other random 2 cents, you could do a better ad copy in general. Tell those people what you told us, draw us into the story. I was kinda teary with what you said here and then seeing the picture. But when I read below the picture there was no emotional ties to the picture. Someone coming to it through facebook wouldn't be emotionally committed to donate money to this family.

Okay - so I changed the button to "Recommend" - it's a simple FB plugin for WP.

As far as the ad copy - I agree but I am also at the mercy of what the family wants to put out there. I'll talk to them and see if I can re-write it for them. All of the copy came out of a flyer for the benefit.

To be clear - this family DOES NOT HAVE A MILLION DOLLARS.

I was saying that raising a two boys - one of them with special needs - to adulthood and through college could easily cost that much.
 
Did it for you. I will donate too then, as I can't imagine what it is like losing your partner. I have an autistic daughter and it is hard enough to raise her with my wife, so doing it alone is a real challenge. Hope she has a good support system for her children and I am sorry for your loss.
 
Also - thank you everyone who helped get the word out - and also thank you very much to the people who donated. You know who you are - the level of generosity was not anticipated and I assure you the money is going to a very good cause.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. There are still people that are a lot worse off, but I'll definitely consider donating now that I know they don't have a million bucks just lying around. Hell if you've got that much money you should save your pennies to put your kids through college, not look for handouts. I know a million bucks isn't a lot, but you could certainly cut back and work your ass off to try to keep that money for as long as possible so your kids can go to college. Due to the wording of your post, I thought they just weren't willing to do that and were instead looking for handouts. My response to people like that is "tough."
 
When I bought my bike, my wife made me get a few million in life insurance the same day.

I also have a will that requests I not be kept on life support for more than 2 weeks. If I ain't coming back in 2 weeks, I ain't coming back.
 
There should be a law if you have kids and decide to ride a bike, you should be made to carry a 1 million $ plus life insurance policy to make up for your stupidity.

I feel for this guys kids and wife.... When I became a father I stoped doing shit that could kill or mess me up including drugs, because kids need there parents.

I looked and clicked on the button,, what a nice family this guy had.. I would personally kick him in the ass for riding that bike if I could.

I donated a few bux..... sorry for the loss.
