Best Dedicated Server - On The Cheap

I've got a couple sites that I am hosting at HostGator now, on one of their shared plans.

However, I believe the traffic is starting to outgrow the shared hosting. I'm looking for a dedicated server for faster loading times during heavy traffic.

These sites are NOT monetized yet, and are really just "fun" sites for the time being. So getting a dedicated server that is reliable, and getting it as cheaply as possible is the main goal here. HostGator dedicated starts at $174/month, but looking around I've seen rates advertised as low as $30/month, with around $100 being the most common.

Suggestions?

Intel Dual Core Atom - $99.00 Monthly Recurring
2GB RAM
500GB SATA Hard Drive
10Mbit Unmetered (100Mbit Available)
NO SET UP FEES!

Additional Info:
5 Usable IPv4 addresses
100% FULLY MANAGED!
Memory: $5 per additional Gig. $10.00 Extra 2GB RAM.
Your choice of Linux (CentOS, Debian, etc)
DirectAdmin Control Panel FREE on request (OS restrictions apply)
Additional 100+ C-Class IP Available @ $4.00 per C.
Additional Server Configurations Available. Including RAID I.
Details

I also have some Core2Duo configurations for a bit more money. These are all 100% FULLY MANAGED boxes. From the sounds of it, you need a starter DEDI, and as you grow can bump up accordingly.

If you want a top quality one, I recommend Hostgator.

We have some servers starting at $75 and up. All come with 100 Mbit and full management by our fully staffed support desk. We are not resellers and have actual techs on hand near your servers 24 hours per day.
Check out amerinoc.com for more information about the company, Contact info@amerinoc.com for the deals.

"LOL" all you want about Hostgator. They will be doing 85 million in revenue this year. You don't get there be "loliing"

For how much they mark up their hardware, and their support... you might as well spend a lil more and go softlayer or liquidweb if you want quality for a dedicated server (thats if you're paranoid to go with someone smaller than 'corporate').

You should probably go with a budget provider to get the most out of what you're paying.

I would recommend you to get a managed VPS first instead of hopping onto a dedicated directly.

You seriously need to stop spamming ever site your on with your reseller hosting, how long before the people here get sick of you like they did on gfy?

OP, have you ever thought of getting a VPS box instead?

You can get one with 512mb ram, cpanel etc for $40-ish with 6sync.com

I've been with them for 5 months now and have never been happier.

I've hosted with the following companies before:
iweb.ca
hostgator.com
godaddy.com (big mistake)
inmotionhosting.com

With 6sync the relationship feels more personal, Rav really takes care of his clients.
I love them so much that I ordered another box just two days ago.

Good luck.

I started thinking about VPS after my last post...but no one had mentioned it until these last two posts...I'll look into that option too...seems like I should probably go that route, then upgrade from there when needed, instead of one large leap.

Thanks!

Is this going to be another one of those "best company?" threads that get bumped once a month for a year? Seeing as how the thread was started over a month ago and hasn't been updated in over a month, I'd say it's safe to say the OP found what he needed.

Mu Strong recommendation is Inmotion. They very popular and reliable in the market. More over it is used by lots of end users around the world

If you bump one more six month old thread with a Inmotion recommendation, I'm going to chop your dick off.
