sup guys, been reading up on this affiliate marketing for a few days. im your average broke ass american. although i actually have very strong discipline. hopefully i can use that to make me some damn money. i am currently reading all the stickies in this part of the forum

questions:

anyone want to tell me how much they are seriously making from this and how long they have been at it?

what i bring to the table for myself is discipline, logically smart, good/responsible with money, good at understanding economics, believe i am good enough with computers( no programmer but can get shit done pretty easily).

think i have potential here?

Hello,
You can do anything online, if you really want to :)

A tip can be CPA networks. It's easy and you can start making money asap. Make a search on google (or youtube) with cpalead or leadbolt, and you will see what I mean.

I make over 100$/day with this networks, and I just started doing this (a few weeks ago) :)

Good luck!

Quite a few people make significantly more than $100 a day. Effort in = money out.

Do a little basic reading on it, then jump in. I spent a ton of time researching stupid shit before I finally made the leap, and quickly learned all of the bullshit I had researched amounted to absolutely zero practical understanding, and learned more in a day of actually trying things out than I had in months of time reading forums, blogs, and ebooks.

What method did you first learn with that gave you such a good understanding? how much money did you lose at this starting period?

1) Read the stickies in the Traffic and Content forum.
2) Write down some notes when you get ideas.
3) Read the stickies in the Affiliate Marketing forum.
4) Repeat step 2.
5) Get your bills together, figure up how much money you need to live on for 3 months.
6) Write a plan up for what you want to accomplish in that 3 months based on reading without going over whatever is left after figuring up your budget.
7) Do it.

I'd suggest you eliminate all questions that spawn from your obvious need of knowing if you can make X amount of money in Y amount of time. In my honest opinion, they'll only take away from you actually sitting down and learning about what you've decided to take on.

I get it, though. I do. You want to make money. I welcome you to the bandwagon. Everyone here wants to make money, but you're framing your questions all wrong.

You shouldn't be asking, "How much money did you lose at this starting period?" Why? Because you'll never get the same answer twice, unless of course the answer you're given is: a lot or a little. Not to mention it's counterproductive.

How much you lose and how much you make depends not only on the amount of work you put into whatever you take on, but the quality of the work, too. My best advice to you is to never frame a question around inquiries about money lost/money made again unless it is to ask where you can find the cheapest domains, hosting, etc.

Basically, I see it like this: What will you learn from someone telling you they're making $xxx - $xx,xxx/day other than the fact that it can be done? Right, nothing at all. Focus your questions to incite dialogue, not monologue and you'll be golden.

I played with PPC and PPV. Just learning how to get proper ads going was a learning experience. The next few days I worked on split testing, and learning what worked and what didn't. Then I spent time trying to figure out exactly WHY some things worked, and why some things didn't. I'm still working on figuring that out, exactly.

As for how much money I lost, it probably won't be relevant for you. I had to make a somewhat large deposit into the PPV network, but that wasn't 'lost' money - just 'tied up' money. Other places might be pay as you go, or require smaller initial deposits, etc.

isnt the "traffic and content" forum more SEO while the "Affiliate Marketing" forum is more PPC?

do people normally do both? I read that nicky cakes newb guide and he said to not even deal with SEO.

as far as the work goes for both SEO and PPC, i dont know what the differences are. I heard SEO can be really monotonous.

You need knowledge of both to survive online. Affiliate Marketing is all about understanding behavior and what sales copy will convert more sales. SEO is all about understanding search engine behavior and what will convert more traffic without spending a penny on advertising.

I don't do PPC. I might in the future, but right now I don't. I like putting up a website and letting it earn me residual income for months on end without me having to touch it. All of my sites market affiliate products, and I don't spend any money on advertising.
