im about to finish my general education classes at community college ( math, science, etc.....) i want to get into web design/ any advice on other course i could take that would give me and edge on affiliate marketing

I definitely recommend some hands on web technology course focused on scripting (php, perl, asp) and database (mysql, mssql).

you can save a whole bunch of time when you master scripting/automation

-Economics
-Programming (try to take a php class or some other language)
-Accounting

Most typical marketing classes in college are shamefully lacking. Unless you have a course that stresses time-tested direct marketing techniques over traditional branding. You might make even better use of your time going to your career planning and placement office and seeing if you can get an internship with a really great direct marketing company....

Also, your school might allow you to receive credit for such practical experience...

Good Luck!

PS

Ignore the idiots giving you a hard time - most people who beat up on newbies have small penises and low bank balances, lol

Depends on what your goal is...if you want to learn more about the world of programming and have 0 experience, start of with a html or php course.

If your goal is design, as you mentioned in your post, take a few intro photoshop or design classes...what you will get in these courses isn't more than what you would get from finding tutorials online. But if you're like me, having the structure of a class and being forced to turn things in on specified days will force you to stick with it and complete it.
