1&1 Offering .COM's @ $0.99? How?

What if domainers just want to register. What could be their action plan then? Is that a risk that they are willing to take?

I think most domainers would be willing to pay a higher price just to not deal with 1&1. Last time I used 1&1 for domains, they had no bulk domain management tools. Every domain setting had to be changed one at a time, even unlocking and getting Transfer/EPP codes to transfer out. They also kept rebilling me for something until I reported my card lost/stolen, then sent me to collections.

Yeah man, same here. They sold my fucking debt to a collection agency because my credit card on file had expired.

If you actually read the offer you'd see it only applies if you have their hosting. Their hosting comes with a "free" domain. Additional domains start at .99 if you prepay a year's hosting. There's an upcharge for each additional domain you add to the hosting ($2.95 if memory serves) so your 99 cent .com ends up costing over $36.

A while ago I fell for their "free" hosting because I didn't read it fully. Basically they give you a domain and 6 months free, then you pay $15 a month for the remaining 6 months you have the "free" domain or they send you to collections for $180.

Link me to that clause. I cant seem to find it.
