[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uskJWrOQ97I"]Gladwell on Income Inequality: We're Off the Rails - YouTube[/ame]

I lolled when somebody tried to quote this goof in a different thread in an effort to prove an idiotic point about affirmative action. Gladwell is a hack but the cool kids like him because he has interesting hair.

Yeah that was me son. Have some damn respect.

My bad. I lolled when BluAffiliate's retarded ass tried to semi-quote (without ever providing the actual quote or any statistics for that matter) based on something this idiot claimed about affirmative action.

Better?

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that proving books as sources is now considered "retarded." I guess Idiocracy is becoming true.

All that he is basicly saying is that in the 50s income over a certain amount was taxed at 90% or so? I heard something about the YMCA and Naples, but I think he was just making the point that there was that high tax once you got over a certain threshold back then, and back then we also had a period of high productivity as a country... I'm not saying that is right or wrong, but is that the statement he is making?

Some Corporations Executives must have an income limit, especially when results are bad or times are tough.

And on who's authority would these limits be enacted? Who in this nation has a right to say "you can only make 2 million a year?" No-fucking-one. Shit like this is why companies move overseas. Put a limit on how much a person can make in this country and they will just simply find a country that does not limit success.

I don't think Gladwell was ever a reliable source in the first place.

Has he ever been caught spreading false information? It sounds like you guys are confusing facts with interpretations or opinions related to those facts.

Yours and my opinion on taxes might be more in line with Rush Limbaugh's, but that doesn't make Rush a more reliable source as he often says things that are blatantly false. When the teachers were protesting in Wisconsin, he said that they were the highest paid group in the state or something like that, for example.

Gladwell will give you the actual salary of the teachers, and cite a source for it, but then he might interject his opinion about how they should be paid twice that amount. Just because you don't agree with that opinion, doesn't mean that he is making up the figure for their salaries.

Is it me, or did he look weirder without the long hair, lol :

If I don't have a right to take a million from you, then why would I have the right to take a dime? The same "authorities" who set and enforce the current tax rules can change them to whatever they want. They currently have the "right" to force you to fight in wars if they wanted, so don't be surprised if they also have the "right" to take all your stuff.

A point in the video that some seem to be missing is that this tax scenario already occurred during the "good old days", a time period which the Rush Limbaughs of the world say we need to return to.

When you read his books, you'll know that he is nothing but a hack.

Blink and Outliers were pure copypasta of age-old truisms.

Not an ounce of original thought in the guy.

Corporations policies.

Interesting... Rosie O'Donnell said something similar the other day during in Interview. She stated that everyone that doesn't agree with her, should be sent to re-education camps and if they still insist to make more money afterwards - deserve to be beheaded.

No kidding.

If you believe in the American Dream - off with your head!

(Not that anyone cares what she thinks.)

A better question is who is behind the sudden influx of 'class warfare'? Noticed that this occupy wallstreet thing seems VERY organised for being just a bunch of college kids "SUDDENLY" doing something.

One would think a liberal/progressive administration is trying to drum up some support or something.
