I don't think Gladwell was ever a reliable source in the first place.
Has he ever been caught spreading false information? It sounds like you guys are confusing facts with interpretations or opinions related to those facts.
Yours and my opinion on taxes might be more in line with Rush Limbaugh's, but that doesn't make Rush a more reliable source as he often says things that are blatantly false. When the teachers were protesting in Wisconsin, he said that they were the highest paid group in the state or something like that, for example.
Gladwell will give you the actual salary of the teachers, and cite a source for it, but then he might interject his opinion about how they should be paid twice that amount. Just because you don't agree with that opinion, doesn't mean that he is making up the figure for their salaries.
Is it me, or did he look weirder without the long hair, lol :
And on who's authority would these limits be enacted? Who in this nation has a right to say "you can only make 2 million a year?" No-fucking-one. Shit like this is why companies move overseas. Put a limit on how much a person can make in this country and they will just simply find a country that does not limit success.
If I don't have a right to take a million from you, then why would I have the right to take a dime? The same "authorities" who set and enforce the current tax rules can change them to whatever they want. They currently have the "right" to force you to fight in wars if they wanted, so don't be surprised if they also have the "right" to take all your stuff.
A point in the video that some seem to be missing is that this tax scenario already occurred during the "good old days", a time period which the Rush Limbaughs of the world say we need to return to.
