2 month challenge before "Real" Job.

I think what you're doing is awesome, and it's your
choice how you want to do it.

I'll let you know how I keep track of my progress and
the rest of the world can hold me accountable.

I use friendfeed, and twitter, and also do status updates
on a few different social websites.

Then after a couple of weeks I can look at what I was
doing all that time.

Some of it will be screwing around, especially when you're
self employed, you gotta take time out to smell the coffee,
that's why I own my businesses right.

Just thought you would like to know how I track my progress.

Thanks man. Yeah, what I change on my sites I just keep in my head. If it gets real intense ill write it down. But with writing my advertising fee's and revenue I just use Excel every week.

(FOR SEARCH NETWORK) do not bid on very generic terms like "antiaging" or "anti aging". See if "resveratrol" is converting, if you feel the cpc is very high and not profitable go for long tail keywords like "resveratrol free trial", "buy resveratrol", "resveratrol trial" etc. Search for "long tail keywords" and "keyword research" on this forum and read the information before you continue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep that in mind when I try search.

Yea dude I love reading this thread. keep us updated more with how that rezv campaign is doing!

also, did you stop the biz opps just because you didn't want to risk it with google?

Thanks Partyhat, I appreciate it. ResV hasn't really taken off. I stopped the biz opps because I didn't want google banning my account. I rather keep it that way incase I wanted to promote other offers google doesn't hate as much. Also with those low conversion rates.

Day 19

Yeah its really not day 19 because I am skipping, but whatever. ResV hasnt take off like I was expecting. When I ran my bizopp I was getting a pretty good amount of clicks bidding $1.25 on content. I am now bidding $1.75 and barely getting clicks. When I do get clicks they are from websites I don't want to get clicks from.

Blah, I might head to search. But now I am reading an article from today that google is slapping review sites... great. I am also reading that yahoo will be banning all rebill offers... superb. Boy is this changing hella fast. I don't believe affiliate marketing will ever die, but that's just my opinion. An opinion of someone that has no experience or connections in the game. There are plenty of offers out there no doubt. I want to stay positive instead of thinking negative and thinking this is the end as we know it.

I am going to keep on trying with the ResV. I mean after all, I did pay for my LP... I need to do something with it. On Yahoo I have to raise my bid to like $2.50 for search. I am thinking of trying that out.

As the days go by, I realized I wasted so much god damn time doing nothing with AM. Hopefully its not too late. I am working all night and trying to waste no time. I can sleep when I die.

Oh boy this was long, my bad.

Day 20

Once again, sorry for not posting everyday. Still trying not to read and just make campaigns. I used clicktale on my landing page and sent some traffic to my LP. About 100 clicks or so. I was watching a few of the videos and it looks like most of the time people are just scrolling through it in 15 secs and leaving. Now I don't have any links before the fold so I just switched that up. I had videos and a brief summary before the reviews. Took out the videos and moved them lower.

I think I am bidding on wrong keywords. Pausing the campaign for one day to gather new keywords today. Going to do some research and get keywords using no programs, just my head.

You'll probably find the people getting good PPC results, use their own keywords, no applications etc. :P

I am reading every day by the way :) Keep going man, you seem to be doing well! At least your making money, even if it's small amounts, lets say you invest $10, you come out with $15, so you made $5, if you invested $100, you'd made $50, invested $1,000, you'd make $500, invested $10,000, you'd make $5000.

The real money comes in when you scale everything up, so you have to remember PPC takes time to get right and once it's right, scale it up and rinse in the money! :)

Thanks a lot. I'm sure ill go to see what it's about.

You're off to a good start there mate. Start to share how did you get that high of a conversion rate? only with clicktale or add some more steroids in it?

Well, I got that high of a conversion rate using google bizopps. I stopped promoting those because I wanted my adwords account for an offer that google thinks is "legit". I'm thinking about opening another adwords account on another computer to be safe. I did use Campaign Sniper, so that might be a big reason why I got a high conversion rate.

Just to give you guys an update, I'm still working on the Resv offers. Also, getting into PPV traffic, I want to experiment with that. I'm doing a few offers on facebook and myspace which are profiting. Trying to scale that now. I won't do the "Day#" thing anymore because I skipped a bunch.

Thanks a lot for the comments, I really do appreciate it. It makes me want to do a lot more.

I am not having any luck with my Resv Campaign. But I am back at facebook again and doing pretty well. Facebook is frustrating but I keep going at it. It's a pain because the "Suggested Bid" is so high. Ill create new campaigns, get volume for it at a low CPC then an hour or so later it dies. So I just delete and resubmit the ads. It sucks, but it gets the job done.

Right now im just doing FB and MyAds. I have like $200 left in my Yahoo account but not sure what I want to test that money with. Going to launch my first PPV campaign today... well, submit it so they can review it. So it might launch tomorrow.

I'm actually close to the $500 a day goal I had back when I started this. I am going to try and get another type of offer up and running to see if I can meet this goal. But I will probably end up going to Electrician school. As I think about it, I do want to have a backup in case AM doesn't work out. The only thing that bothers me is, I will have very little time on AM. I don't know, we shall see.

yo buddy great job man .. you should be proud u made conversions ... just curious tho .. are you direct linking or using a LP?

Keep up the good work buddy, the hardest part is starting.
The sky is the limit once you get over the first few hurdles.

wow

so i'm fairly new to affiliate marketing and this thread you have going is really phenomenal. i have a few questions for you or anyone who cares to answer:

1. by landing pages do you mean the offer's landing page or a landing page you have created?

i ask this because i picked up a few for dummies books and started making my own landing pages to run offers from on facebook and myads, but because of my inexperience, they're not very good, i can give you guys some links if you're interested in looking over them to help me out.

2. facebook keeps disapproving my ads as well, also, my impressions also drop after about an hour if an ad does get approved, have you found a way to keep your impressions from dropping over time on facebook?

3. still being new, i'm always looking for new places to get ads from as well as places to advertise on, do you have any favorites or recommendations?

a buddy of mine went to full sail for music production and sound engineering and now he works at the navy base commissary back home, i'm not saying don't do it, but i read somewhere earlier in the thread where a guy said to get pay a mentor to help you out, he's not just saying that to sound important, that really is the best way to get the knowledge and experience you need in a recording studio. full sail can give you knowledge on how to use some software, but a good mentor can give you all that and more.

i know this post has been pretty long, but there are a lot of people following this, so please don't give up after your 2 months is over, you've been an inspiration to a lot of people.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the landing pages he has created.

2. facebook keeps disapproving my ads as well, also, my impressions also drop after about an hour if an ad does get approved, have you found a way to keep your impressions from dropping over time on facebook?

Facebook is a real pain in the ass nowadays. You've got to just keep resubmitting and tweaking your ads every time. It sucks but you can still make some good coin with fb traffic.

As far as your ads losing traffic is concerned, it sounds like you're not bidding enough, or your ctr isn't high enough. In the past I've had the same problem and solved it by just resubmitting a similar ad after i lose my impressions. Don't know if that is still a viable method today.

is that $500 a day profit?

Profit, not there yet. Almost!

yo buddy great job man .. you should be proud u made conversions ... just curious tho .. are you direct linking or using a LP?

Thanks man. I am direct linking, but a few offers work well with a landing page. But overall direct linking is best.

Keep up the good work buddy, the hardest part is starting.
The sky is the limit once you get over the first few hurdles.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the motivation.

1. I mean my landing page, just got someone to design it for me.

2. I have ads that have been accepted and Ill submit more to get more volume and they get disapproved. One type of ads I sent in were nothing related to dating. The reason they were disapproved was because it didn't follow the dating guidelines... lol? Just keep resubmitting... its a pain but its worth it. I've submitted 100+ ads today, about 10-20 batches. I only found one lucky batch to get approved. So only 10 ads approved out of those 100+. The impressions, you just have to target and if impressions die then just resubmit. I send in so many ads a day incase my impressions die, I have something to back it up. But Im not facebook expert.

3. I'm in the same boat as you. But right now facebook and myads is where im at. I want to get into search much much more.

Also, thanks for the Full Sail info. It seems like I need to just hire someone next summer or spring to be my mentor.

Wanted to add, thanks for the support. Also, I used to go on aim and irc a lot, even WF. I brought out my dusty old laptop from 2000/2001 and upgraded ME to XP. Made that computer strictly for AIM and IRC stuff. Don't get me wrong, im still on it but I dont look at it as often.

Sorry for the long post.

I don't usually post back to back and especially this early. But last night I met my goal times 4. I can't believe it, it feels like a dream. I have to email the network and make sure everything is good because I just don't believe it. Right now I already hit my goal for this day and its early.

Only thing is, its only one campaign. If this falls through, I'm done. I need to start making other types of campaigns to back this up. Hopefully I can keep this consistent.

congratulations man, it's good to see someone succeeding in this. in the past few days i've spent over $150 and only made 30 of it back (from only one conversion). i'm seriously struggling right now with this whole deal, but i'm trying to stay optimistic, after all, i know that at least one person was willing to buy, so hopefully more will come.

i'm keeping on with facebook and i now have one ad running with a cpc bid of only .50, but it only gets a click every 10 minutes or so and the reference is coming from something that's not facebook, it's been confusing me quite a bit. the site it's coming from is desk.opt.firmserve.com if anyone can tell me what that means, that would be awesome.

as for my myads campaign, it gets like 20 clicks a day, but nothing in the line of conversions yet. my screen name on aim is steven seagaled, i just got aim today to talk to some tech support people, so i'm not sure how much i'll be on, but if anyone wants to check out my landing pages or throw me some tips, i hope to talk to you soon
