It's a waste of time and money for people to try and enforce digital copyright on the web. I can't think of anything less profitable to do.
Well, my posts in Shooting the Shit might qualify, but this is the second most unproductive thing you can do.
Big deal. You get a lawyer. You find out the affiliate is out of country. What will you do then? What if the host is out of country too?
Move on. You can build some NickyCakes deathstar voodoo in, but people are still going to rip you off. Instead of trying to chase a 1 in 1,000 chance at some form of compensation besides satisfying your anger, why not do something that has a 90% chance of earning you a profit?
Our entire notion of intellectual copyright is so fucked up. It leads people to pursue unproductive ends, protecting what they think is the value they provide to make money, while ignoring the real value that makes them money.
No one ever got rich off a landing page. But they did get rich off a landing page by driving traffic to it. Get it?
While you are bitching and moaning, that douchebag is making monies online. While you are spending money on a lawyer, he is making monies online. While you are posting on WF, he is making monies online.
Shame you didn't focus on making monies online.
