This is the first year I'll have to file income from online companies and I was wondering if anybody has gotten W2/1099s from any networks yet?

I've had it for a week or two from my full time job so I'm just wondering how long it usually takes.

Thanks :)

I think the law requires the 1099's to be sent in the mail by January 31 (today) at the latest.

I've gotten about 2 or 3 so far. You should have them all before mid February.

Today is the deadline so it should be soon. I haven't sent my 1099's out yet ( :( ) , but I'm going to email my accountant with the numbers on Monday.

i'm not 100% sure but if you earned less than $600 with a given company, they may *not* send you a 1099 (but you will still need to report it).

Yeah I'm talking about the ones I've earned more than $600 with. I haven't gotten ONE form yet.

I can't remember what I googled - "hot tits" maybe, haha

yeah this is my first year too.

what do i show the accountant? I made a some money a good amount but that was not gross - not after taking out my expenses (money i spent on ads) which i only made a minor amount of profit.

I only did facebook ads so do I show him all my campaign expense?

any other tips for ppl filing first time that started affiliating marketing?

EDIT: i did not declare myself as any form of corp - just sole proprietor, so can I write off internet expense and crap for this business? I never did any type of itemization before so i'm new at this as well.

Yes you will get a 1099 for your gross compensation from the affiliate program(s) and will have to show your accountant your expenses related to earning that, such as your ad spend, hosting/domain costs, internet service, computer hardware that you purchased for the business, etc. Also ask your accountant about writing off business use of your home.

THIS IS MY FIRST YEAR AS WELL. SHOULD I PRINT OUT RECIEPT FROM MY CC OR BILLING ON SYSTEM?

as far as i know it doesn't matter... i don't even show receipts to my accountant just the totals, you just have to have proof of the expenditure if you get audited (again as far as i know)

I use quickbooks every year and my accountant for my AM business keeps tracks of daily spending/revenue. I know plenty of single marketers that do the same, so i would recommend looking into it for this year.

Did you actually buy a legit version of the software or just download it? Do you need to buy it in order to properly file/register etc?

I am thinking it would be in my best interest to just go to an accountant because I have income sources from 5+ networks and my full time job, just think it would be a hassle to try to figure all that shit out myself - Plus, I can't count how many times people have said get an accountant because they will save you more than they cost.

Quickbooks i bought for my business. I assume you are talking about actually filing - he does that himself for my business. Yeah i wouldn't mess with that myself. We have 25+ networks plus clients, expenses, etc. Otherwise i would recommend the online version of turbotax for business.

Alright thanks. I love seeing new people reply to this post so I have a reason to come back and look at those nice titties!

I've also heard that going somewhere such as HR Block is a huge no-no, that you should try to find an actual tax accountant if possible?

Question? I've already filed my taxes. I didn't have any of the forms but I did report what I earned, so as long as I did that I should be ok right?
