Not sure what I think about that.. It's basically like renting instead of owning a house, throwing money away; unless they allow you to own the software after you stay long enough. It'd be a bitch to stay 2 years, stop your membership, and you don't own shit.

I'll do it. Closed source software, you barely own it even why you buy it. I already have PS on a $35 subscription.

Hmmm...interesting. I like how Adobe has stepped up their game and it actually trying to fight back against pirating. But still, why would I pay a monthly fee for these when I can just download them for free?

I use their software every day and is the basis in which I make a living, not about to take chances fucking around with piracy just because I want to save a thousand or two; not worth it imo, even if the possibility of getting caught is very small.

Anyone else notice Dreamweaver CS6 is buggy as fuck, slow, and has no new groundbreaking features? I see lines of text go wayyyy outside a div or table. Seems like a pretty easy bug to spot before releasing.

I don't think I've ever feared getting caught. I do however fear security and stability with pirated / cracked apps. However CS5 is extremely easy to pirate without any additional software.

Already subscribed. If you've got a licensed copy of CS3-CS5.5 you get a discount. My subscription is only $29 a month instead of $50 for example since I have a license for CS4. Plus you get access to Adobe's cloud services and I think a free Typekit account thrown in as well (which is close to $50 a year).

It's a no brainer. Pay $2599, or at least $525 for an upgrade, for the full Master Collection or just $29 (or even $50) a month. Adobe's dev cycle is usually around 2 years so assuming you upgrade every CS version, it's going to work out around roughly the same price and you don't need to outlay all the loot in one go.

Everyone here is ballin' out of control though right?! No need to be pirating software, especially the tools you use every day to earn a living.

And this.

I, especially, like the fact that this will become a Pay-as-you go priced at less than $600 a year - which IMO is easier than forking out over $2500 at one go.

It will give small businesses like us a steep push in terms of design-services.

Needless to say, if every machine the subscription is activated cannot pay for itself, you have no business running a company offering design. JMHO.

Great idea if you upgrade to the latest and greatest every time it comes out. I think this was a shot at getting hobbyists that pirate it to buy it. A design company would never pay a monthly. Most of the "professional" design companies I've worked with are still using Photoshop 7, CS or CS2. They really have no incentive to go out and blow another $2500 when what they have does everything they need.

What? Design companies upgrade their software all the time, and it doesn't cost $2500 every time they want to upgrade. Unless you're doing sound and video you don't need the Master Collection either and even if you are you might be using entirely different software for that kind of development, meaning you can get by with the other 3 Suites for much less.

The feature sets and usability/performance improvements from the 7 or CS-CS2 apps to now is vast (multi processor & 64 bit support for example). You're talking software that is 7 to 10 years old! I don't know of a single agency that is using 10 year old software still. Most I'm aware of upgrade at least every other release cycle and often every cycle since it's much cheaper to do so. The creative teams I've worked with have all had the latest and greatest.

Why would I get a girlfriend when I can come around and fuck yours?

You're right, herpes. But point remains.

Great options for people starting out and those who need lots of licences.

Guess I deal with low budget operations then.

Do you deal a lot with Flex Printer/Old Timers in Photography?

Most small time Print operations haven't yet upgraded - as long as the templates they use opens and can be edited, they don't need to fork out extra dollars at all and they don't.

I know a printer/dealer in Hong Kong - was there on a business trip last week and when he saw me launch a copy of CS4 on my Laptop, asked me if it was "better than Adobe Photoshop" and if he should consider purchasing it.

Also, old time photographers and photo restorers are known to have "not upgraded" as well.

It is my understanding that most popular software is priced to offset all the pirating that goes on. If this is true, then if I paid for it I'd be paying also for all the pirates. No thanks, matey.
