Adsense ads in blogs

Are adsense ads allowed on blogs? I have my new cigarblog.net site launched and someone emailed me warning me about having adsense ads on my blog, that google will ban my account?!

I have seen ads on just about every blog out there, so what is this guy talking about?

Is there anything I should be concerned about?

What he may be referring to are the blogs that are "made for adsense"
 
I think promoting tobacco products is one of the things covered in their tos as prohibited for adsense. I kinda recall that from when I could still log into an AS account myself. I have a site that has alcohol related stuff and wanted to put some AS on it but couldn't.

Funny how they'll take the money from people who'll pay them for the ads but, if your site promotes tobacco or alcohol or any number of other things, you can't run AS on it to get any of their cash.

The google is fucking EVIL!
 
Sites displaying Google ads may not include:
Violent content, racial intolerance, or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization
Pornography, adult, or mature content
Hacking/cracking content
Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
Excessive profanity
Gambling or casino-related content
Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails
Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)
Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol
Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

Thank you turbolapp, I also found that shareasale does as well. It also looks like yahoo allows cigar ads too, but I don't have a ypn account yet, they take forever to set you up!

Are you all familiar with chitka or something like that?
 
It might be chitika, its supposed to be an alternative to adsense. I was refered to them from the guy who warned me about googles tos with tobacco products.

I am awaiting approval on them to test it out.
