Adwords: Pause or Reduce Budget?

Lowering budget to that low of an amount, and then later trying to bring it back to a $1k budget isn't a good idea for several reasons:

1) The low budget will affect the overall cpc for the campaign. ( My account manager verfied that). Basically once you get your budget back to normal, you'll be fighting the first week to get your bids back to where they were.
2) Your campaign will go under a manual review, which in result may affect your campaigns quality score.

I've had some negative experiences with ad scheduling. I set it to run for 18 of the 24 hours as a test, but when I wanted my ads to run the full 24, it didn't kick in for a bout a week and my volume was down.

I've had similar situations where I've had to stop traffic and lowering budget worked for me. Do not pause your campaign as you heard in comments posted above.

Do not cause your campaign you are effectively reversing the effort and money put in prior to you running out of dough! Time Schedule.

You just need to not double your budget. If you lower it to $2.00, to stop your ads. Then you want to raise it again. Up it to $3.99. save it. then $6.99, etc
and just keep doing that until you get to the amount you want. So you dont get mannually reviewed.
It works for me.

If you set it to $1.00 then up it to $1000.00 you will get manual reviewed. And your ads will stop for a day or 2.

Going from $2 to $1000 by doubling every day will take at least 15 days. Not that useful.

I keep hearing people saying pausing your campaign is not a good idea, I personally don't have problems pausing them.

I had several campaigns that were getting 4000 - 5000 clicks/day, paused them for couple of days because the advertiser started scrubbing me. I turned them back on after I found similar offers, boom back to getting 4000 clicks again. Maybe it will take a while (like a couple of hours) for it to build back the momentum .

Wow,I'm suprised to hear different opinions about this.

Pausing my campaigns always had the same effects like starting over with a new campaign.

no, all at the same time.
Double it, then save. Then right after that, double it and save it again.

It takes a couple minutes, but its better than pausing.
