I'm making changes to my LPs trying to improve my QS on Adwords. I'm just wondering: will the QS update on its own or do I need to re-submit my ads entirely? Sorry if this has been covered before but I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks a lot!

It will update on it's own but only when the Adwords bot re-crawls your site which can take weeks - so in short, no it doesn't.

It normally doesn't even update the QS when you resubmit ads (if they're the same ads) - unless you change you destination url.

To counter this just rename your page and change the destination url - e.g. from example.com/lp1.php to example.com/page1.php.

Yes, you must resubmit your advertisements as Google is not yet capable of developing robotic technology to rescrape a page.

Glad we got this cleared up! Wickedfire is becoming a real knowledge bank for internet marketing!

Interesting thing. QS updated a day later but it went even lower. The only thing I changed was adding Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Site Map. Not quite sure why it went lower so I'm not sure what else to change to up the QS. :/

probably your ad CTR caused the decrease.

then forget about QS for a while.
Sometimes the numbers are odd. Its not very common, but it did happen to me couple of times.
As long as your ctr is good, and ur cpc is fine, u are good.
Its not too hard to up ur QS: relevant kws in ur lander and in metatags, ur exact kw in ur lander couple times, links to other parts of ur site, dont try to make it like a salesletter or a thin squeeze page, add sitemap, privacy police, terms and cond, etc, as soon as u have enough clicks, get 1 lander for every fat keyword so u can optimize it even more and get better QS and conversions.

Here is a golden trick I'll provide: in order to add relevant content in ur Adwords landers to keep Google happy AND u happy, what u need is to use jquery dropdowns "expand/collapse", so the user has to click in a link to expand the div and read what it says.
Its a clever legit way to use some relevant content in ur ppc lander and at the same time avoid visitors clicking away or getting too distracted from your main purpose.

Hope it helps.

Kick fucking ass advice. Thanks man, +2. Sending a PM too.

UPDATE: With some help from people here on WF, particularly gulp86, I've now achieved a QS of 10 for a number of adgroups--first time this has happened for me :D. Just wanted to update in case anyone was wondering. The main thing I did to get the QS up for some keywords was to NOT use the keyword but to use related KWs--i.e. if I was targeting "fat loss" in the ad group I wrote all my content around losing weight WITHOUT using the phrase "fat loss" anywhere on the LP at all. This shit worked for me, so hopefully it can help someone else. Thanks again everyone.
