Hey so I've been studying and learning the affiliate/online marketing world on and off for two years. Buddy of mine is very big in this industry got me into it and I've been a long time lurker just watching and learning. I am in my last semester of college so money is tight, however I do work two jobs so spare money is available.

I ran a campaign from a4d for Christian Mingle on POF for a weekend this past April, however the offer was cancelled Sunday morning and ran all day Sunday with dead links. Needless to say it pissed me off and scared me away.

I'm looking to get back into it, problem is I've hit that wall of uncertainty. Not to go into too much detail but I live my life by a calendar and a budget, I need to get out of that and take a risk; I KNOW this field is a risk.

For right now I need more affiliate companies to join. Currently I am with
A4d
Maxbounty

Pending: W4

Who else can people recommend that will accept complete newbies?

The next thing I want to get some opinions on, is dating a "potentially profitable" niche to start with?

Can anyone give me any motivation or pointers?

I find a lot of affiliates started from nothing or "just enough". I'm in school for manufacturing engineering and know I will make "decent" money, which feels like a fallback. But I don't want a fallback, I don't want a 7-3 job with two weeks vaca and doing mindless work. I'd rather bust my ass for 80 hrs a week on my call to make what I deserve in the end. #endrant

"A person who becomes fatigued when unhappy is useless." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Hagakure, circa 1709)

Lord Naoshige said, "The Way of the Samurai is in desperateness. Ten men or more cannot kill such a man. Common sense will not accomplish great things. Simply become insane and desperate." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Hagakure, circa 1709)

"Even if it seems certain that you will lose, retaliate. Neither wisdom nor technique has a place in this. A real man does not think of victory or defeat. He plunges recklessly towards an irrational death. By doing this, you will awaken from your dreams." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Hagakure, circa 1709)

"Continue to spur a running horse." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Hagakure, circa 1709)

"Wisdom comes from paying attention to wise people. Bravery is developed by simply gritting one’s teeth and with determination crashing through any barrier in one's way without regard to the circumstances." - Yamamoto Tsunetomo (Hagakure, circa 1709)

Just keep trying, and don't get discouraged about the thought of losing money. The more campaigns you try and launch the more you'll learn and the more things will start to click into place.

Top marketers aren't born, they're crafted by being knee deep in the trenches day in day out.

You should really stick around here more and read.
Especially if you are asking if dating is a profitable niche.

I know it's profitable, if talked to many who have made it just in dating, I was asking if its a starting place given the high competition.

Dating is a good choice, especially when you're short on money - you don't need big testing budget too see if offer even converts. Competition is everywhere honestly.

Consider working with one network because you might have some cashflow issues if you spread your traffic accross few networks. Above All Offers is a reputable network with good choice of dating offers. Owner (Deliguy) is a WF member so if you want, hit him up.

Good Luck.
