I have a question for a DT network owner. I have been an affiliate and known about the industry for about 6 years. When I first started, there were not nearly as many networks as there are now.

I always thought smaller affiliate networks were just a large affiliate who decided to take his private offers and share them. Is this not the case anymore? I have no desire or interest in starting an affiliate network, I just feel like all these new networks are getting crazy.

So can anyone with the cash to pay for a DT license just launch an affiliate network and the advertisers await? Does anyone else think the amount of new networks is getting pretty crazy?

No more crazy than the amount of new affiliate marketers.

Some of the small time guys have exclusive offers you cant find anywhere else. I don't feel too comfortable doing a lot of bank with them because I picture some kid in his basement that may decide he needs my revenue to buy him a new car vs pay me on time...

We just had a booth at the Affiliate Convention in Denver (2 weeks ago). While the convention was good, and had some good speakers, I was amazed at the number of affiliate networks.

.

I think youll see a lot of these networks burn publishers and advertisers alike. within the next year i bet you have half the networks you see out there now

Everyone thinks its easy to run a network, but the amount of ABC Network and XYZ network scamming me or not paying me threads is going to increase because a lot of networks are taking on risk they just dont understand.

Mike you caught the right nerve.

Its always better to stick with big guys who can pay on time, every time
