AM during a recession

If you don't mind taking advantage of people, you can sell them on hopes and promises. "Make an easy $100/day with data entry" "Unemployed, we'll show you how to make $1500 week" etc. Tons of these make easy money scams going on where all one has to do is fork over $50 or $100 to learn the "secrets".

Hey, it's not technically a recession yet, but it will be VERY shortly.
I'd say build up the traffic, get some affiliate programs in there (don't let this categories be like the WF buttons up top! hehe), and show that it's got a consistent revenue.

That's when you flip it somewhere.
Sniff out a few private sales first, see if you can get 12x it's monthly average revenue after 3 months of consistent traffic. It's unlikely you'll get that, but you can hope.
Failing that, stick it up for auction with a reserve of 6x it's monthly average, and a starting bid around 3x.

Write a presell letter promoting a clickbank "work at home" product.

Man, with 15k organic traffic I could make 5k a month, easily.

I welcome it- it'll push the newbs/idiots that rip off all my pages/copy/graphics out as they can't get credit to drive up bids and run at 10% margins while squeezing me out.

Fuck 'em- and fuck everyone else as people have said no problem as I simply start promoting into the trends people are buying into (panic/gold/work at home/etc).

well nobody said you had to do your work in america alone. you could advertiser products in more stable countries. but then again you would have to find offers to do that.

btw has anyone thought about the back end of things? everyone just thinks on just change your offer blah blah. but what if the people who are putting up the offers can't because they aren't making any money off the back end because nobody is buying there leads...

I think it will tighten up and clean up the bad marketers out there. If you are sending legitimate traffic to the advertisers you'll get paid. I think alot of the advertisers will be really analysing how certain traffic sources are performing and if it makes them a profit then they will scale it, if its been losing them money and doesn't look like that will change then they will cut advertising spend there. I know television ads are going down, big companies like GM aren't even buying space for the Super Bowl this year. They probably figured out it won't back out for them and they need to focus more on improving their products for now.
